Just got my new CFR Exhaust yesterday... these sound awesome! If you like a muscle car rumble and loud exhaust, these are for you! I have to take the bike back for a tune, but it doesn't run to bad for just slipping them on. I already had the V/H True Duals header pipe, with Fullsac cores. I'm getting a sluggish throttle of the line, but around 1800 rpm the thing comes alive!!

How much were they?

what ecm or tuner do you have on the bike?
-
They were just over $600 with shipping, from Iron Aces Speed Shop. Right now I'm running the SE Super Tuner, cuz it was available at the time I needed it.

I have CFRs on my SESG and noticed the same thing as I can see in your picture. The left side muffler is closer to the saddlebag compared to the right side muffler which is more centered between the fender and the bag. I've had mine on since February and just noticed this morning...
-
I'm glad you mentioned it... I noticed it as soon as I installed them. I was planning on taking it back off to adjust but hadn't had time. I can't figure out what is causing it.
-
Can you post a video so we can check out the sound??

Same here. If you figure it out, please let me know. BTW, which true duals are you running? I've been thinking about changing head pipe for a while now but concerned it will be too loud as I want to keep the CFRs.
-
i have cfr on my 2012 ultra with a sert bike runs great and sounds great still run stock head pipe
-
I'm using the V/H True Dual pipe.
-
So based on what I'm reading, CFR has made the pipe easier to tune? I have Fullsac heads and cores, they sound and perform well, but I heard a sound clip of the CFR's and I haven't forgot it! I hate to mess with a well tuned bike BUT????

Same here...nothing wrong whatsoever with the Fullsac system but saw and heard the CFR's in Sturgis and WOW!
I see a "winter project" coming up! ;D

sound is very nice ... i get complements every time i go out .... but for some reason it was running better with the Catted OE headers than with the Full sac Xpipe
-
had the fullsac head pipe whit cfr mufflers after i rebuild motor i was getting to much heat so i went with v&h true duels and cfr and re v tuned with tts tuner iam more then happy with the new setup heat is gone and sounds better

I love my CFRs, but man, these are loud!
Today I've made my third attempt to muffle my CFRs.
I welded a two step, 10" perforated funnel near the end tip.
I've got it down from 83dB to 79dB during idling and I believe I've got the torque up a bit between 2-3000 rpm ?
We'll see next week, when its time to hit the Dyno...
I still have a massive rumble but not the neighbor wakening effect ;)
I'm running S&S true duals, SE 10:5 pistons, K&N filter, Supertuner and S&S 583 cams.

Hi Henric,
Can you post some pictures of your mods.
Thanks,
-
they look nice,,, but boy are they loud,,, not for me at all :'( :nixweiss:
-
I'll take a picture from behind this afternoon.
If you're going to the SR in Poland you may listen to them first hand :2vrolijk_21:
-
Perfect !*
How do you manage to keep this part in place ?
Can the CFR core be removed from the muffler for welding this extra unit ?
Thanks,
PS, a trip to Poland or Sweden should be nice, what about a one to France ?
-
Yes, by drilling out the tree rivets at the rear end.
Then you'll have a mesh cone. And by pushing down a straight tube, it will get stuck somewhere down the cone depending on the size of your new muffler. After this, you can tack it in place thru the holes.
I made mine of scrap parts in the garage. One 2,5" car muffler and an old Vance & Hines core.
Where in France do you live?
-
Man, you're a photographer !!!
Toulouse is a France south-west old and young town, well known for three+1 reasons, among others :
- pioneer in aircraft and now space industry (Aéropostale, Airbus, Ariane etc.)
- old town is awesome with splendid 'pink' walls from local argyle cooked bricks
- Claude Nougaro most famous song 'Toulouse'...
- Gastronomy :) and sunny south cool way of livin'
You're welcome !
-
I enjoy the sound of mine. However, I may replace them in the future to make my stereo usable again.
-
i didn't buy a bike like that just to hear the exhaust...that's a long azz day in the saddle :nixweiss:
-
So that's why Henric's idea is a sound one.
A removable plug'in cone kit could be a good mecanic or CFR project.
What you think ?
-
I'm back from the Dyno and as suspected, my home made mufflers is stealing quite a bit of horsepower...
But I got great torque instead :) And that's what I was aiming for anyway.
If I remember this right, I got 95 hp at 5200 rpm and 115,8 ft/lb at 3500 !
It's not a sport bike, it's a powerful tourer :bananarock:
I was so keen on trying it out, that I forgot the Dyno sheet, but he will send it to me in a couple of days.
-
Cool.
Will you have the numbers before ?
