It's not as clean a look as drilling but it will do until I decide I'm keeping her

I used the plug on the old tag light, and drilled 3 holes.  If you ever want to go back to stock, the old plate will cover the new holes.

All clean installs, but I'm still havin' a hard time choosing...I do like the molding trim idea to eliminate the visible gap between fender and plate. Nice touch!

Was at my local Harley dealer yesterday and the parts guy is checking with Kuryakyn.  I told him to make sure the cover fits the 2011 SESG.  If so, told him to order the cover, have it powder coated and finished in gloss black.  I didn't want chrome on my black fender.

I agree! After I've had her for more time I may go with drilling the holes and putting in the trim piece. Just can't bring myself to drill on her quite yet!  :o

Here's mine on the 2010. Modified a 9182 frame for blind mount and filled smooth ... drilled the fender ... had it painted to match and gold leaf for the lettering.
Came out pretty good - got TONS of comments on it. Pulled it off and replaced it with a regualr 9182 for the impending arrival of the 2011. Still kicking around ideas for what to do on the 2011.
