Fullsac X pipe with 2" CVO cores. Looks stock but works great! Cost effective too.

Going with with Vance Hines big rounds and fullsac x pipe, I think the fullsac products are great value.

I am going to use the fullsac x pipe with the stock CVO mufflers with 1.75 fullsac baffles and TTS map. I want the small baffles for a little quieter sound. Nothing but good things here said about Fullsac. I have a buddy with the VH power duals and they sound really good , but I like the stock look hence my choice. The stock heat shields fit right on the x pipe retaining the stock appearance. I really like the end  caps on the black diamond/crimson tag graphics bike(flhxse2).

How do you like the vance and hines. Is it very loud ? On the hyw. etc.
I am looking at that combination. How does it run and what tuner are you using?
Nice bike, it is the same color I have ordered.

Benz

I wear hearing aids and I can still hear the radio and IPOD on my CVO going down the highway.  It has a deep sound that I like.  Many who have heard the bike have made favorable comments in regards to the sound.  I use the Screamin Eagle Race Tuner.

Thanks for the compliment on the color.  You will find that you will spend a lot of time cleaning.  I think if someone dropped some dust in San Diego, it would find its way to my bike.  The black attracts/shows dirt very easily.

Enjoy your ride!!

How loud is it? Roughly how much for the V&H High-output slip-ons?

about $500 i think. ebay had some for $350.  they toned down after 1000 miles but are just deep.  my wife thought they were too loud at first but know loves them.  they're just deep tones.....i've never heard anything quite like them before.

I'm putting on the Rinehart Xtreme True Duals and the 4 in mufflers with SEPRT, base mapping running it for 1k miles then it will be time for the next service and will have it dyno'd then.

Actually right now I have the rinehart 3.5 inches on it now because the parts guy made a mistake and the new one are being installed Tuesday.  I love the sound with the 3.5in mufflers cant wait to hear what I actually bought.

I'll take pictures Saturday after Thanksgiving, and post.

Slowrain,

Got any pictures of the D & D Fatcats? Did you add the falsey to fill the void on the other side?

Considering these. Been told they are the best. A true 2 into 1 vs. a 2-1-2 (Fullsac, V & H, Jackpot)

Also, how's the sound and performance?

Here ya go.  I did put on the ghost pipe...mainly because of the extended saddle bags would look a little funky without it.  I have the "normal" baffle on it and it is plenty loud...can't imagine what the really noisy one would sound like.  I do get a lot of positive comments on how the bike sounds.  After I had them installed....it dyno'ed out at 99 hp and 120 pound torque (tts mastertuner).  No issues to speak of except I don't think the dealer had torqued the muffler right as it kept backing out of the headpipe.  Finally put some ultra tex and torqued it to 15 pds when it was cold.  No issues after that.

I noted that your lower fairing speakers were not on your bike.  Did you take them off on purpose?  If so, why?

I am a dyed in the wool true Vance and Hines fan, however, this time I went with the Rineharts just because they had a black end cap and that was the look I was going for.  Also, I wanted the new 4 inch pipes and they have a very deep and low tone.  They are not as loud as the V&H though.  Also, I would describe their sound as a bit more refined than the V&H.  I just put these on last night, excuse the quality of the pic taken with my Blackberry.  I also put a SE heavy breather on, but beware, it doesn't fit with the lower fairing, I had to return them.  Yes, I bought the ones that are advertised to fit the bikes with lower fairings.  Very bad fit, butted up against the speaker housing, not functional and not good for the paint.

I have a 2010 SESG and installed Cary Faas CFR's, OEM manifolds and SERT.  They have a deep rumble without being obnoxious unless you get on it. IMO  The wife also loves the sound over the Samson's we had on an 06 SG.  To each his own but I love the CFR's and wouldn't change them for anything.

I have exactly that setup on my flhxse2 and it is louder than the stock setup yet quieter than my other electra glide with true duals and rineharts. I almost didn't switch exhaust at all because I loved the quiet for a change but since I was going to use the TTS tune I installed the x pipe and 1.75,s and it is perfect for me. I find the quieter ride much less fatiguing on long hauls. Gettin older I guess , but anyway I love it and the bikes performance is superb.

I hear ya there....the noise laws are slowly being implemented here. 92db at idle and 95db at a certain rpm. Would be nice to see some numbers with the different set ups.

Performance wise i doubt there is a dimes difference between the major manufactures and the independent guys, although I'm sure they would all claim differently. I would have been perfectly happy with any of them so to me it simply came down to appearance. I choose the V&H Power Duals cause I like the look. I went with their Monster Rounds, mufflers because they are called "Radio Friendly" and I like that. Obviously I listened to many sound clips to. Although I can't ride my bike because of a hand operation, they sound perfect in my garage.

I have this exact setup on my Spiced Rum and the sound is great...not too loud so that you can't hear the radio, people behind me say that it is a low pleasant rumble, but can tell when I crack the throttle.....

I live in Fort Worth.  Would you be willing to meet for lunch someday (when it gets a little warmer) so I can listen and compare?  Possibly take some meter readings?  I take a lot of loooong trips and loud exhaust can really beat you down after a long day on the road.

Make a trip to SoCal!
We can do a day ride with all the options for mufflers. 113 with 2.25 cores to stock 103 to modified 103 to stock 110, 1.75 or 2" you name it we got just about any combo you can think of (haven't got that 120R yet!)
Hell, I got a spare set of CVO mufflers with various cores we can swap out.........YOU can decide which sounds best to YOU!

Why yes I did and it took about 8 pulls on the dyno to dial it in. Don't have the money to knock it all out at once.

Does it still get pretty hot? (I've got CFR's with V & H Dresser Duals and a SERT. Very, Very loud. Heat went away.)

I have ordered the Fullsac X-Pipe B, 1.75" baffles, and the TTS fuel mapping software.  In transit from Arizona to Nebraska.  Should have it installed in the bike in the next 10 days.
