2011 CVO Street Glide - Stock Mufflers

I just picked up my new bike - Black/Red.  I don;t want to remove the Cats and I like the look of the stock mufflers.  Has anyone installed the Fullsac cores but left everything else?  I don't want it too loud but louder than stock.  Please let me know.

I put the Fullsac 2" cores with the cat still in the pipe. It sounded good but I thought it was a little too quiet. Truthfully I only rode it about 30 miles around town. I pulled the cat out today and it sounds perfect to me

Was it a lot louder with the 2" cores?  On my Road King, I left the cats and put on V & H Monster Ovals and I was really happy.  It sounded better but didn't piss off the neighbors!

I think you'll be happy with the Fullsac baffles.  You can always remove the cat later, if you want to.

Installing the Fullsac baffles will make it sound like a Harley without being obnoxious.

OR, if you don't want to fool with cutting the baffles out of the stock, you could just buy some Rineharts which also have a black end cap and look pretty sweet on the Black Diamond bike IMHO.

stock was super quiet, with the 2" cores only; you could hear the exhaust over the intake noise but could still hear the intake noise  a little, with the cat removed you don't hear the intake just a nice deep rumble. I originally thought I would be buying either rineharts or the V&H HO's but I'm pretty happy with the Fullsac's.

Yep....this looks real nice. I would go this way too if i was going to replace the exhaust but with the new noise laws getting ready to kick in over here i will stick with the stock exhaust.

Wow, that sucks if your local police thinks these are too loud.  Personally, I think these Rineharts are not very loud at all, but  enough of a rumble to know it is a Harley.  I couldn't take the stock sound for one more day, it was killing me to hear the "tick" of the engine over the bike.  There is just inherently something wrong with that.  :)  Good luck.

We are told that if the bike has the stock exhaust it should pass. The noise level is between 92 and 95 db at idle and while revving a at a certain rpm while they hold a wand about 20 inches, on an angle to your muffler. A fail and they give you a fine and you have to replace your exhaust. It has taking affect in some city's and it's just a matter of time before it's everywhere >:(

Yep, there sure is.  I just had my dealer remove the CAT from my 10 SESG stock headers and then had them mounted on my 11 SERGU.  (I have V&H Power Duals on the SESG).   I wanted to keep the stock header look on my SERGU.  I had the Klock Werks Revolver mufflers put on the bike when I bought it and it sounded nice.  Had a nice deep, but not obnoxious rumble to it.  Now after removing the CAT, the Revolvers are a little bit louder, and I really like the sound of the SERGU now.  Definitely not as loud as my SESG with the 4" V&H basics on, but a nice pleasant rumble.  Perfect, IMO, for a touring rig.

Great!!! Thanks for the info.  You happen to know how they removed them, do you.  Was it as simple as a screw or did they have to do some serious work to get them out

I was going to remove my own baffles, but realized after a lot of research what a hassle it was going to be and I would still have a non stepped, non ceramic coated head pipe. (You have to remove it, cut it in half, remove all the cat material, then weld it all back together.) Since I wanted to keep the awesome looking stock mufflers, I was already planning on Fullsac 2.25 baffles and TTS. So I ended up buying Fullsac's X-pipe, $431.00. It uses your stock heat shields and they fit perfect! Steve also emailed me the perfect program for the TTS and my set up (sleeper 1 kit). It was a simple transition, plus if there ANY questions just check with Steve. Hope this helps

All dressed up with no where to go.  Just had the Fullsac X-Pipe, 1.75" baffles, and TTS installed on my bike.  Sounds great.  Now the snow needs melt.  Would highly recommend this system to anyone.

If you're going with V&H, I'd recommend the power duals over the true duals.  You'll get better performance out of them.  I have the Power Duals on my SESG and really like them.

 Your Harley dealer removed the cat material from the head pipe?  What about warranty issues with the cat gone, different mufflers and tuners installed. I would think the dealer would use those mods as an excuses to void pretty much any engine/performance issue.
I am waiting for the delivery of an elusive Krypto SG, scanning these boards looking for ideas. The info here is priceless.
