I have it on my 08SG and it does work. Did a few trips overnight and carried a large HD touring bag on it. If you are only going to use it once in a while I would buy a bigger cheaper one that is detachable. It does look nice though.

Works just fine for me.....I have a regular size passenger backrest which gives a bit more area to attach the T-bag to.  3 of the 4 straps fit ok.  The antenna 'just' fits along the side of the bag.

I've got it on my 08, for when the TP is off, and the passenger support is on, makes a nice place for the T-Bag to sit.

I found that it was not wide enough when putting a large touring bag on it.I made shure the I strapped the sides of the bag so that they were pulling up attached to reg sized backrest.Just make sure that the bag does not rub on hard bag lids. I have one forsale off my 08SG if you know of anybody looking for one.I was going to put another on my new bike but since I dont need it all the time I will put detacable larger one for when I need it.
