I'm hoping somebody can explain this...  I've been noticing some 2012 Street Glides have a brake light in the middle of the rear fender, and then others do not have one? I've only seen one and I can't remember if it had the brake light.

The ones with the brake light in the middle of the fender are the "international" models I believe.

they are definitely international models including Canadian too. In some ways I like the extra light for safety.

  it makes no sence to me why Deely Harley insists the pig nose be there.
Here in Ontario, Canada the highway traffic act does not require that third light on any motorcycle. We are only required to have a white light in the front and a red one in the rear, and nothing more!


I much prefer the smoked lens and no third light.

I agree....Deeley does nothing but cost us money and force things on us that we don't want.

This is what I did......I too hated the pig nose but once you go to the smoked lens with LED lights it looks good and you have great visability. The smoked envelope (U.S. Lights) look good too. Much better that the International Amber.

Now look at that you lucky dog!  I have been trying to get my hands on one of those CVO emblems for my fender and am told I am SOL!

If you are looking for a really, really bright public safety vehicle type LED taillight with selectable flash options, that will definitely get peoples attention, consider Brightass Lights. They make a smoked lay down version that looks much like what Mano has on his Canadian SESG. I am toying with the idea of changing the rear fender on my 2011 SESG to the International version so I can do that. You can never have too much brake light. I had the same light on my 09 CUSE4 and it really got following driver's attention when I put on the brakes. It can be set to do a strobe function before going solid red. very cool.
