Want to trade Up!
« on: August 01, 2003, 01:14:16 AM »

Hey guys,
I am new in here and it is my first post.
I currently have a 2001 Dyna Wide Glide 2, with less than 3000 miles. It is perfect in every respect.
I have been trying to find a dealer I can trade with. I am interested in the 2003 Screamin' Eagle Road King.

Have any of you made a similar trade? I would love to know what you all think is a fair trade difference, that is if I can find a dealer who is interested in doing so.

Your experiences and your estimates are welcome.

Thanks

any dealer who has what you want should be willing to take a low miles CVO for trade. you have a unique bike only 1700 of those were made. i dont think any dealer would have trouble reselling that. you may have a hard time finding an 03 CVO at this point though, we are only about 2 weeks from H-D announcing to 04 models

good luck with your quest, and welcome to the site

Guys thanks for the response.
Maybe I should have made it clear, I need a dealer closer to me, and I am afraid it has to be a California emission bike.
What I wanted to find out if $10,000 I offered for trade difference that the local dealer turned down was indeed not enough or am I up against a dealer that is just too greedy.

She is all mine!
Today went on a 300 mile trip just to get the break in 500 miles out of the way.
It was a killer to spend 4 hours on the bike obeying the 55 MPH 2500 RPM limits.
Coming back was a blast. Didn't get crazy but it was nice to take it up to 70 MPH. Very smooth, but it need more work.
Darn California Emissions!!

This bike is loaded with all kinds of goodies.  Personally, thow, I think that you should have posted a new thread just on this bike.  Do you happen to work for HD?

Hey Turk!

I also have a 2001 Wideglide2 and LOVE it, but I must admit, the 2003 Sreamin' Eagle Road King is the only bike so far that I would have even considered trading up to.

Good luck and I wish you a LOT more miles on it than you did on the 2001.

Enjoy the ride...................
