I probably would drink rat piss before I would drink a Billy Beer, but thanks to him, President Jimmy Carter, in an attempt to atone for his many failures, legalized home brewing in 1978.

Billy Carter, while ridiculed in most media & generally regarded as an embarrassment to the Carter administration, is highly regarded by many in my family.  Seriously.   One of my cousins children (5 years old then) had a severe health problem.  They did not have enough money to cover the travel to John Hopkins from Texas nor enough insurance to cover the procedure.  Somehow, Billy Carter learned of our family's problem & intervened.  Free airfare, free lodging for the hospital duration, & no cost (Zero$) for the medical procedure.  He would not tell us who paid, but I have my suspicions & his initials were W A "B" C. 

So hat's off to Billy Beer (would not drink it either), & RIP Mr. Carter.





Did not know Jimmy Carter legalized home brewing.  The things I learn on this CVO forum about beer amaze me.  Thanks Eagle1.

I just got home from York two hours ago and went to the beer fridge where I found a 22oz Weyerbacher Blasphemy Ale which is a Quad IPA aged in oak barrels and bottled.  I learned about it from this thread.  I'll let you know how I like it.

Just had my 1st sip of this 11.8% masterpiece.  Very malty, hoppy, and strong but nothing over powering.

I'm glad I'm finding out about it now.  No bruises or any other physical evidence of trauma.  I think this explains the wet underwear though.  The Makers Mark had me circling the drain within two hours.  I missed out on the rum, dayum.
