D AND D FAT CAT OR BASSANI ROADRAGE B4
« on: May 08, 2018, 12:59:50 PM »

Which one would you choose? I am having my bike retuned at R and R cycle and want max low end and top end power so I am switching to a 2 into 1 per there recommendation. He recommended the Bassani, but said both would work well power wise. I called Bassani and they recommended the B4 if I go with the Road Rage. Thoughts?

I have the D&D Fat Cat and absolutely love it. No first hand experience with the Bassani, but they sure do look nice finish wise on any of the pipes I've seen.

It depends on the engine build.  You provided no details on what you are putting the exhaust on.  That said, I’ve never seen the Bassani out perform a D&D.

117 with 10.7 to 1 compression, tman 590 Cam, 58mm throttle body 5.3 injectors and head work by Suburban speed. Right now with Vance and Hines power duals and OS450 rounds it pulled 124 HP and 133 TQ. It’s just a little soft down low due to the 2.5 baffles. It’s still at 95lb at 2500 rpm though.

I have the Boarzilla on my 117" with the wrapped baffle. It smooths out some on the highway, but still sounds like you're getting chased by a helicopter. I've learned to love it because it sounds mean as Hell.

The Zilla really suits big motors with big power. Your bike isn't a slouch by any means, but I'd get some input from experts (which isn't me :) ) on what the Zilla may do to your low end at 10.7:1, and ~125hp.

Good choice. I have heard both in person, and I don't like the D&D sound. The Bassani Roadrage sounds deeper and more Harley-like.

And, I'm willing to bet that performance difference, if any, are negligible and not enough to notice.

Thanks Northstar. I will update with a review after I pick up my bike. I bought the Roadrage based on  what you just said and the advice of  the tuner at R&R. They said these  where  the best two performing exhaust they have used.

Update, lost power and cant stand how it sounds! What a waste of time and money! Picked up 10 ft at 2500 rpm but maxes out 11 ft pounds lower and sounds like a POS!
