I bet the only bike that is not tubeless is the RLHRC not the Ultra Limited as the article stated. I'd also doubt the torque stated for that stock motor.????

Milwaukee (June 29, 2011) - Harley-Davidson has begun delivery of all 15 models in the 2012 Touring, Trike (North America only) and Sportster lines to its dealers in the U.S. and Europe. These motorcycles will be available for sale immediately, giving customers an opportunity to get on a 2012-model Harley-Davidson with much of the riding season still available. Shipment of these select 2012 models has been accelerated to provide greater continuity of supply in dealerships during the peak summer selling season. Additional 2012 models will be announced on July 20 at the Harley-Davidson summer dealer meeting in Anaheim, California.
2012 Sportster: Personalization and Power
The six 2012 Harley-Davidson Sportster models range from the affordable Dark Custom roadster posture of the Iron 883™ to the track-inspired performance of the XR1200X™. Each Sportster model offers the heartbeat of an authentic American V-Twin engine and pace-setting style and performance.
Back for its first full year of production is the Sportster® 1200 Custom, the motorcycle that introduced the web-based H-D1™ Bike Builder factory customization process. Using Bike Builder, customers can personalize their 1200 Custom with seat, handlebar, foot control, wheel, security, paint and engine finish options that are installed right at the factory. Even more dealer-installed accessories can be added, and viewed, on the Bike Builder site. The customer can then print out a description of their bike and bring it to a Harley-Davidson dealer to review the motorcycle with trained staff, select additional accessories to be installed by the dealer to further customize the motorcycle, and then place an order. Customers can expect to be riding their new bike in as little as four weeks from the time an order is placed with an authorized Harley-Davidson dealer.
All 2012 Sportster models will have Michelin® Scorcher™ tires with a tread pattern designed, tested and styled specifically for the Sportster motorcycle to provide ideal grip, even wear and longer life. Fifteen Sportster paint options include seven new color choices for 2012. Side covers will be finished in either gloss black or denim black to match the finish on other bodywork. The Forty-Eight model will have a new tank graphic.

2012 Touring: The Legend Rolls On
For 2012, all eight Harley-Davidson Touring models are powered by a Twin Cam 103 engine with Automatic Compression Release and integrated oil cooler. Producing 102 ft. lbs. of peak torque at 3500 rpm, the Twin Cam 103 provides outstanding performance around town and on the open road. All Touring models also feature the 6-Speed Cruise Drive transmission, 41.3 mm telescopic front forks, air-adjustable rear shocks and an Isolated Drive System for smooth power delivery. The Harley-Davidson Touring chassis has a single-spar, rigid backbone frame and two-piece swingarm designed to deliver responsive maneuverability and long-haul durability. Chassis geometry and suspension are calibrated to deliver confident handling and comfort.
All Touring models except the Ultra Limited will offer a new "tubeless" Chrome Lace Aluminum Wheel option for ease of tire replacement and repair. Six new colors or color combinations are among the 12 paint options offered within the 2012 Touring model line.

That figure is at the crankshaft, not the rear wheel. The 110" is rated at 115 TQ, again at the crank.

They finally found my Big Blue 2011.5, lost for whole month. :soapbox:
It was just shipped off the dock A MONTH LATE... No chance of it getting here for my Birthday now... It will still be 6 weeks minimum. I kind of have THEM over a barrel now, as this has been the worst they have done, on record... I could get a 2012 CVO Ultra, if HD came out with anything cool... That would be fun, I could start the waiting game all over again.. :bananarock: :confused5:
So Friends, when will the new models be released in America for viewing on the Internet? If I stall a bit, I might still have a choice. Mind you, I kind of like Big Blue, I would just hate to miss out on something new and cool for lack of a couple of weeks... :nixweiss: :nervous:

HD America just put on the new 2012 in a few Models on the American HD Site, 103 is standard now, colours were nothing to write home about.... Still no CVO colours yet...
On Shipping mine: To be fair,
They (HD Australia), probably had to put enough together to fill a container or something with the crates they ship in.
Anyway, if the CVO release had something fab in there, while mine is still on the water shipping, I would have my options open.... :bananarock:
I must admit, it would be pretty hard to beat Big Blue....

Now that the Ultra Classic has a 103" motor there is little difference between it and the Ultra Limited. Kinda surprised they kept both.

My understanding is the 120R Drag motor is not street legal...
So while I would like to see it, stock standard beating the Gold Wing, does not seem likely to happen. It would take a crazy person like me in Australia to drop in the 120R in a Dresser and have the 110 as a coffee table base backup... heh he..
It would be nice to see a 1000 cc in each jug, but doubt it for the air cooled v-twin on the road due to EPA choke hold...

that's the official story.
In fact several German dealers were more or less forced to take 120s in their inventory and several have succeeded to get them legalized for street use. And German regulations are even more restrictive than Californian.

I would have thought if they were keeping the limited it would go to the 110 motor. Seems to me they would have to do something to make the limited more special.
What they going to do for the CVO?
I'm thinking the softtails will get the 103B.

The best time, IMO, for changing the model year of any motor vehicle, is in the peak of the riding season...motorcycles especially. Launching the new models in January, when half of the country can't ride, would not be as effective as launching in July. If you notice, the automobile industry traditionally launched their new model years in September, but now a lot of the Mfgrs, are moving their release dates up more into the summer; peak vacation/driving time of the year.

Yeah, it's an SE Servicar. Not just some plain jane "classic" or "standard" model. Color is going to be Burnt Auburn Maroon Cranberry Rust Metallic (two stage).

Servicar? Hmm.. looks like a trike with a dry ice chest in the back. I seem to remember traffic cops running around on something like this in the 60's in Gary, IN where I grew up.

I don't know, maybe tools of the trade (ice cream scooper, other tools?). Here is a picture with the servicar and a pull cooler. So when someone asks you if you know chit from shinola, you can say you do!

I believe the metal stuff in front of the handlebars is the tow bar. Back in the day a mechanic could fix/tuneup someone's car and tow the bike behind their car to deliver the customer's car and ride the bike back to the shop or vice versa.

Birmingham Cops used to use them in the downtown area for parking meter violaters...this was back in the early 60's. They could leave it idling, put the ticket on the windshield, hop back on and move to the next one.

Yeah, I remember the local cops riding them downtown and using a piece of chalk on a stick to mark the cars tires as they rode down the line of parked cars so they could come back in a hour or whatever and see if any cars were still parked with the chalk mark on the tires indicating that they had violated the 1 hour parking limit (or whatever it was) and then giving them a parking ticket. I remember that some were really adept at marking them at a pretty good clip. Practice makes perfect in anything. har. spyder

Yeah, Spydy...that was back when you could go downtown in B'ham without fear of being knocked over the head or shot. It's better than it was a few years ago in most parts, but there's still places I don't want to be when the sun goes down.
Cool looking Red Servicar though...probably not many of them left.

I know, for one, dealers have been requesting this. If you walk into a dealership right now you will see many dealers with their lowest inventories of new Harley's for the year. This happens at the end of every model year as no manufacturer wants their dealers to have a large carryover of prior year models - Harley closely watches projected model year ending inventory. Based on this, dealers are having their peak selling season suffer due to limited inventory and buyers are finding limited selection. Harley has been listening to this for a while now. Couple of challenges given by Harley in the past for not moving the launch are.........One of the highlights for Harley surrounding it's presence at Sturgis has been the ability to let so many riders see and ride the new model year bikes and they don't want to lose that excitement. Two, Harley has to plan out a few years in advance to book the necessary location for their annual Summer Dealer Meeting which has typically included the first showing of the new year motorcycles.
