I didn't like really the deluxe cvo, for spending that much money on such a bike, they should ve had at least replace that white wall tires and rims with a better looking wheels

You are correct. Why didn't I think of that?

PS - I almost forgot one of the best features... The amp is no longer under the seat (at least on the Limited and I was informed that the CVO is the same) which is great for those who want a quick release TourPac.   :2vrolijk_21:

since you had such extensive experience, maybe you can answer this question.  it looks like from the website that the turn signals are integrated into the tourpack and that there are no turn signals mounted by the taillight.  i noticed as well that in the p&a catalog, you can purchase solid color matched filler strips.

so, in short, what are those 'holes' in the back for?

Yes you are correct... The turn signals are integrated into the TP lights and there is no rear light bar on the Limited and Ultra.  I was informed that lights to insert in the chrome pieces between the bags and fender are coming for those who want more lights.

Grizzly,

I would also like to know your thoughts on the handling and braking.
Thanks

Grizzly, when you took the new Limited on your 3 hour hiatus what were your impressions of the "high output 103"? Also what were your impressions of engine heat on the twin cooled motor?

Good questions from both you & Bryant and I should have touched on this with my review...  When I took the Limited out the temp was mid-70's, so it wasn't a real hot day.  I rode my own bike to the dealership so that I could compare the ride, heat. wind buffeting, etc. to the 14 I was about to mount.  Obviously the newer bike rode much smoother and I really noticed how much better it handled in the corners.  I didn't notice much difference in the braking although I believe they have moved the rear brake peddle slightly back and closer to the rider.  The 103 performed flawlessly and had plenty of get-up-and-go which is another reason I wondered about paying the extra for a CVO version.  At one point as I was thoroughly enjoying my cruise down the highway I looked at the speedo and was shocked at how fast I was going!

As previously mentioned, I feel my recurve windshield works better in reducing wind buffeting than the mail slot vent.  The lower fairing vents in the 14 even though they are smaller than mine actually pushed more air around my legs keeping them cooler.  This maybe why I didn't notice any excess heat from the engine and certainly did not feel any heat on me from the rads.  On the upper side of the lower fairings there are cut outs to dispense the heat from the rads.  The lowers are a touch wider on the 14's and therefore these cut outs are further away from your legs and only when you put your hand over them to you feel the heat, which isn't that much.

Actually I didn't really think too much about it being a twin cooled bike, so I guess that means they've done a really good job incorporating it into the new bikes.

Hope this answers your concerns.

That's good news to hear that you didn't notice the heat coming from the radiators! Maybe they got it right with the Twin Cooling.  :2vrolijk_21:

Air diverted

I wonder what this is going to do if you install highway pegs?  Are your feet/legs going to the hot?

Yes, another good question.  The Limited I rode yesterday did not have highway pegs installed.  With the lower fairings being a little wider to allow for the rads, I think most will install the pegs lower on the bar and therefore your legs will sit a little lower, most likely below the opening and heat does rise, so you should not feel any heat.  Won't know for sure until someone actually tries it though.

I see a lot of people set their pegs so their heel rests on the boards, I know I do, so there shouldn't be a problem with heat coming from the lower vents.  Especially going down the highway.

I have the long-angled peg mounts, set like that, and I ride heel-toe 90% of the time. But even if I put my whole boot up on my pegs, it would still be well under those radiator output vents. Wouldn't be a problem.

So much more of the crash bar is covered by the lower/radiator-housing I actually wasn't sure if we could install highway pegs.

I've always run longer reach pegs low and shorter reach pegs high...  With the low pegs, I generally place my heal on the floorboards...
