They are indeed great big ugly HOLES, and you can look right in them and see the shocks, swing arm, etc.

Why wouldn't they have blocked these up with SOMETHING?

Ken
Ken the answer is obvious.  You just need to ponder on it for a moment...........

Smokey Mtn. H-D had a SERK @ 28 or 29,900

Well, I'm glad to see some dealers are NOT trying to gouge the crap out of their customers like Killer Creek is! But the North Atlanta area around Killer has a lot of disposable income, and I'll bet that someone with more dollars than sense will buy the SERK for well over list.

I paid MSRP for the Honey Badger at H-D of Macon in August 2011... and it was the ONLY SESG I could find at any dealer in the entire state of Georgia at that time.

I would never pay more than MSRP for ANY motor vehicle... Period. MSRP is outrageous enough on these bikes... But paying the dealer several thousand dollars over that, just so they can line their pockets even more, is something I will NEVER do!

Oh, I know, Greg... more P&A revenue. "Let's just leave these giant ugly HOLES back here, and then we'll sell $499 turn signal kits to fill them!"

In other words... Thinly-Veiled Contempt For The Customer.

Just wait Custom Dynamics will come out with a kit to fit the holes (or some other aftermarket company) and a lot cheaper than H-D

You've got it all wrong Ken. The motor company just knows that we owners need an excuse to modify our rides so they give us obvious  areas needing modification as a starting point to keep us busy until more expensive and involved modifications (engine work anyone  ;) )begin to occupy our time and wallets.

Are we talking about the same area?  The area between the bags and fender - aren't those black area's on the fillers some type of lighting or reflector?  Or are we speaking of something different?

Isn't that a demo bike?  No plate nor bracket for a plate.  Here are two that have been purchased and posted:

The CVO Limited is done right... with color-matched filler panels and turn signals.

It's only the non-CVO Ultra Limited that has those big holes back there... and no turn signals except in the Tour Pak.

The plate on them is mounted above the tail light like in years past.

Or are we speaking of something different?

As that has been pointed out now it is at least good to know the option that started on the first CVO E Glides is still carried over, eg filler panels.

Although, I think I would like to have seen the SG panel instead.

Amber Whiskey Street Glide... Pretty color, but rather plain-looking in a solid color with no graphics...

A friend of mine just bought this bike in Amber Whiskey.  I saw it yesterday and it was very plain-looking, like you said.  I didn't have the heart to tell him that.  This was the first 2014 I've seen in person, and I do like the ease of opening the saddlebags.  I was real disappointed with the sound of the speakers.  Maybe they would sound a bit better with a different source than the radio, but nonetheless, not impressive.

Are we all losing it or is the MOCO playing tricks with our heads?  I was just looking at Harley's website, at the new CVO Limited, and the main photo of the bike has HIGHWAY PEGS on it.  After all the discussion about this, was this there the entire time?  http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US/Motorcycles/cvo-limited.html#

Just not as obvious when folded up.  Unless I'm not looking at it correctly, I would think that actually using those highway pegs would be great for warming your feet in cold weather, but probably not real great when riding in 95 plus weather.  It appears the radiator vents will blow right at your ankles. :nixweiss:
