T-Bag or Tour Pack which do you prefer?
« on: June 05, 2010, 12:44:46 PM »

Which did you go with and why? I am trying to decide which is better any comments and or pictures are appreciated. I am planning on the trip to Sturgis, and maybe one other trip where the extra storage is required. As a note I would be riding solo on these trips, therefore I would be packing for one.
Does a T-Bag require a special sissy bar?

I'm using a T-bag, mainly due to cost. I've ordered lowers and can't afford the tour pak right now.

That being said, the King Tour Pak's volume is 3850 cu. in. The big t-bags are listed as 2.5 cu ft with roll bag and the main body expanded. If my online calculator is correct, that works out to 2.23 cu ft, so the t-bag is slightly larger. However, it doesn't lock and isn't as weather proof. At $230, the t-bag got my vote. (actually, I'm still using the one I bought a few years ago for my '02 SERK on my new '10 SESG)

I like the T-Bag.  For me it's only used on occasional overnight trips (couple per year), holds a lot, is inexpensive, transportable to room as luggage and your bike looks cool again when it's removed.

I have used both and not a lot of difference if you are riding solo you can put another bag on seat infront of sissy bar I have done that for extra storage.
