Additional Rear Lighting
« on: June 09, 2010, 12:56:05 PM »

I'm kind of a safety freak when it comes to being seen from the rear by vehicles. Anyone done anything to the rear that will enhance the existing lighting or add additional lighting?
Thanks

Kuryakyn 4835 Panecea turn signal inserts and controller.  Lets you convert the turn signals to run brake turn. You can also add the Panecea tail light, I love mine, makes the bike well seen from behind.

Dave,

Try looking at this thread:  Alternating Break Lights on SERG.  That should do the trick for you.

First is to replace the rear brake light with the Bright Ass Lights.  Can see this for miles and miles.

Awesome, cars will back off>

Lotta suggestions but not much that would work for a US SESG. I'm assuming that you're talking an SESG since isn't in the SESG discussion... I'd like to see who's done the back off's on the SESG or SERG. I've put the spoilers on the saddle bags which adds a brake/run to each saddlebag, not much, but looks good and adds some light. I don't think Kuryakyn has anything that will work on the SESG...

I agree...since I am in Canada and have the Canadian version SESG which has a taillight, I did replace the stock taillight with Bright Ass Lights (BAL-2R version)...not cheap but I'm worth it!  ;D

This light has multiple patterns and brightness...all I can say is that if you can't see me now, you should not be driving and surrender your licence immediately!!!

Check it out if you have a taillight:

Yes...the bike i'm trying to light is a SESG. A lot of great suggestions but mostly for folks with a taillight. Additional lighting or brighter lighting is my goal. Keep the ideas comming please,
Thanks

Did the same on my wife's Street Glide (she has the SESG rear fender, LED lights and streatched bags).  Then Jim converted them to run, turn and brake lights.  The LED lights on the SESG are already pretty bright when you hit the brakes and they're larger than most tail lights but with the saddle bag spoiler lights it really lights up the back of her bike.
