Just curious...  Does the problem only happen with the supplied iPod, or does it happen with iPhones as well?  I was hoping to use my iPhone with its 20GB of music instead of the iPod when I get my new CVO.

I have an iPod nano I have been using for a long time.   It happens frequently.   I have never taken the supplied iPod out of the case.  :nixweiss:

You could keep it with your gold key, since you don't use either... :huepfenlol2:...har!  spyder

I think that's what I did. It goes to the new owner when I sell this bike. Maybe it will bring and extra 100 for it.  :nixweiss:

Happens with phones, too! :(

This whole issue is crazy.  I cant beleive that this happens to basically all of us.  I am going to look up the cost of the new cable and if not too much may just go order one.  It would be great if that fixes it.

Let us know. But I have no confidence it will. I'm no techie but sounds more like a software issue to me.

Yes, I agree with you.  Much more likely in the module itself.  It was wishful thinking at its best!!

the 30 pin cable that goes from the ipod to the junction on the output of the module runs over $80.  i thought about getting one cause the little plastic pin release broke on mine.  for that amount, i'll just continue to use a small screwdriver to release it......

Yep it's common as the cold...

On mine I simply take it off shuffle and
move up or down a song or two and it
starts playing.

Obviously there is a problem, I've even had the Head unit replaced
when the face plate went out, and the NIM as the GPS wouldn't release
the audio for a while at least 20 seconds after giving the command.

That seems to be fixed along with a GPS upgrade to the software.

I had the same problem...the dealer replaced the 30 pin cable (HD p/n 72651-11) under warranty and it seems to be working ok now.  From what the service manager said, there were a problem with a lot of the original cables which explains why my part was on backorder for about 6 weeks.

My bike was built within the past week, so you would think that it had an updated cable.  If it does, it didn't help mine, because I am also having the problem.  The trick to select a Playlist does fix it, so at worst it is yet another annoying inconvenience that comes with a $39K motorcycle.  :-\

For Thanksgiving I rode from Illinois to Florida and back.

My system randomly cysles through the modes.  Finally it stops on FM.  ??  I don't think it's software.  I think it's a cable problem.  When the bike was new I rode an entire day in the rain.  Later the connecting cable behind the right bad was pretty corroded.

I used (vary carefully) some contact cleaner.  That fixed it for a long time.  Now it's nuts again.

The whole thing?  Not ready for prime time.  POS! >:(
