I'm still getting a feel for it. It has a lot of cool features like the MP3 player and bluetooth. I matched it up with my cell phone and it works really well. Actually, when it's in the car mount it is a complete hands free unit with a built in microphone and speaker in the mount. The bike mount has ouput jacks on the side for microphone and speaker out.
Coming from a Quest unit and previously a Streetpilot III, it is apparent that Garmin is "dumbing down" the usability of their units. From what I can see, you can't do any of the detailed map configurations like the older units such as setting up your map display in detail such as how the text displays for different size cities and things of that nature or being able to customize your display as to what categories you want to see on the map screen, like speed, altitude, distance to next waypoint, etc.. There are no longer Waypoints, they are now POI's or Points of Interest. You need to download their POI loader (free) from their website if you want to load the dealer databases. I still have not found a way to load Harley's database that is in the Quest units. They are .rgn files. The Zumo accepts .gpx and .gdb files. The Zumo will accept multiple POI files as long as you load them from the same folder. When loaded they will be under the "Extras" folder under the "Where To?" selection from the opening screen. Any "waypoints" that you have loaded in Mapsource will get loaded in the "Favorites" selection off the main screen.
Don't get me wrong, though. This is a great unit!! A bit heavier than a nuvi and it certainly seems durable. I like the 3D mode that will show you "going down the road" with customizable icons instead of an arrow. The icons are anything from Monster trucks to motorcycles that you can also download from the Garmin site. The screen is a nice bright, glare resistant screen with great resolution and colors. I'm pleased with it so far and I'm sure there are things I didn't "discover" yet about it, but so far, I like it.
