Dave

Your going on a trip and your starter is acting up, your hog pod isn't painted, you don't have a chrome cover on your neutral light, I can't see a Zumo.
Geeeeezzzzzzz buddy, you slacking off on us?

Why can't I find myself a gal that could put together my birthday present list like you did?  While you're shopping for my gifts, I could sure use a nice bluetooth setup for my helmet too...and a nice centerstand.  Throw in an FXRG leather jacket and you've earned yourself a beer.

Anyway, I thought I had a productive day.  The bike is all checked over for the trip, installed my ghost pipe, finished up the stereo, installed the CB microphone, reloaded the software for my radio since something happened along the way that wouldn't allow me to set the time correctly, and I put a set of floorboard extensions on my friend's SEUC.  I just have to finish packing for Eureka Springs tomorrow before my HOG meeting, and I'm heading on the road Thursday morning, with stops planned in Louisville and Franklin, TN, before rolling in to ES on Saturday.  I'm hoping to dodge some of the rain.

Just messin with you!
And just between us, the lower speakers look good.
And for me, the jury is out on the ghost pipe!

I do like the look of the ghost pipe.  I didn't really seem to notice it from the left side of the bike, but I like the look from the rear. My friend called to see if I got it, and it had just arrived.  He told me he'd come over and help me put it on.  By the time he got here, I was putting the saddlebag back on.  That was a quick and easy install anyway.  Since I was done with that, I asked him where his floorboard extensions were and he had them in the tourpack, so I told him let's get those on now...while I was on a roll.

Those lower speakers look real nice, but I noticed in the sun that they have a little tint to them off from the black.  They still look good, but it doesn't seem like they put out as much sound as any of the other speakers.  Yes, I had my ear up  to them and I don't think I could even do that with the other speakers at high volume.  I do think I'm going to get those steel mesh grills that we talked about for the fairing speakers to match up with the ones in the Pod.  I think they'll look a little nicer.

my input is

i did this to my bike the weekend before the york trip and it sounds great

I did the hog pod
lower faring speakers  (has the new 20 % louder speakers)
ft speakers          also the new speakers
rear speakers

I am very pleased with this set up and even at 85 mph with the klockweks windshield it is clear and rocks and you don't need to push the system     :bananarock: :bananarock: :bananarock: :bananarock: :bananarock:

I didn't have time to paint it.  I was very pleased to get the stereo installed and my ghost pipe and everything else done up to this point.  I need to slow down on mods and ride this beast for a while.  What happens if I like what I see for 2010 and trade again?  I don't want to rush to put everything together for someone else to enjoy it.  That probably won't happen though.  I thnk I'm going to hold onto this one for a while.

Did you buy your system straight from the hogtunes website? I started a thread to see if anyone had done business with rideshack.com, they were considerabley less expensive than the hogtunes site and I am going to have to get me some after listening to all of you..jury still out for me on the Hawg wired or hog tunes. I have listened to alot of input for both

I got everything direct from HogTunes except the Hog Pod, which I bought locally for a nice discount.  Remember, HogTunes gives forum members a discount also.

Another closer view of the Hog Pod.  I think it looks fine without painting it.

I like the looks of it not painted also. Gives just enough contrast with the painted fairing to look  :2vrolijk_21:

Dave can't come to the puter now. He's in the garage shaking the marble in the spray can.  :2vrolijk_21:

There's only two kinds of hog pods.

Those that are painted and those that will be painted in the future.

and yes, this only applies to cvo's and painted inner fairing's
if you have an unpainted inner fairing then the unpainted hog pod matches!

Why did the monkey fall out of the tree?  He was dead.
Why did the other monkey fall out of the tree?  Peer pressure.
Moral of the story:  If I paint it, it will be based on what I like.  Harley...make it your own! :vrolijk_6:

But then, time and money allowing, I may paint it down the road...I wonder how granite engine paint will look on that thing???
