I assume that you're talking about the "break in" procedure.  I did mine just the way the manuel says.  There is also a good article in the latest issue of American Rider magazine by Joe Minton in the column called "Ask Joe".

Darkvisorman their are a couple of ways to breakin a bike the book way or the motoman way Hard accel an decel for the first 20-30 miles basicly getting the rings to seal on both sides. Probably the best thing is to get the synthetic out of the bike.  I have been told by several good mechanic and a tech for red line that you never breakin a bike on synthetic oil. When they set my bike up I had them put HD 20-50 in the bike and will run it for the first 5,000 miles before installing synthetic in the bike. Have changed the oil at 50miles and again at 500miles and at 1600 when they did the 1000mile service, will change again at 3000 and to synthetic at 5000 my thinking is oil is cheap. Thats my thoughts on how to breakin a motor and how I broke mine in.

I have noticed after I passed 600 miles this bike is really picking up more torque and horsepower with the mile!

Love this bike!!!

I agree with Magoo on the oil especially because this bike has narrower piston rings in all positions than a regular 95" bike. The rings are also cast as apposed to moly and that's why I'm not sure I would try anything "extra" to seat them. Best to follw Harley's recommended procedure  on this bike, I think. Still, If you ride it like you stole it... things could turn out fine...just that the possibility of something bad happening is higher IMO.[smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
