Title: 10 Yaffee Monkey Bars
Post by: captainmorgan on July 30, 2014, 06:07:43 AM
Stumbled upon a local HD Dealership that has 10" Monkey Bars brand new in box.

I know I need a new riser and clamp because of the difference in diameter of the stock bars vs monkey bars.

Question I have is I keep seeing posts saying you need to special order monkey bars for CVO because of the hydraulic clutch reservoir????

So the question is for those that know or have them installed do you need special order monkey bars for cvo's or will the original monkey bars work just fine???

If you are putting them on a CVO yes you will need to order bars that have the indention for the hydraulic clutch. With 10" bars you should have enough wire and cable to reach. I installed 12" monkey bars on my skunk with out having to change out the cables or adding wires. The hydraulic clutch will be the only real issue that needs to be addressed.

I contacted Yaffee and had to order the bars for my 13 CVO RGC.  They came with the notch for the clutch, and they are 1.25 so I didnt need a new riser or clamp.  Took 14 weeks to get them (Black / 10 inch). As stated, all the original cables etc worked with the 10 inch. Bars were worth the wait.

The CVO road glides have a different reservoir and do not need the indention for most bars.  If you look at it you will notice that there is more space.  I learned this from a Harley Service rep.  He said most bars that state will not fit actually will because of that gap.

Head scratcher... I sent Brady and email at Yaffee and he said I would have to grind a spot and then hit it with vivid black spray paint...  I specifically asked if I could order bars with notch and his answer was not currently????

So here I sit wondering will they fit or not... ???  Last thing I want to do is buy a 350 dollar set of bars then have to run a dremmel on them and spray a section with paint....

i just put a set of 14 monkey bars on my 12 skunk.  I bought them from a another owner, did not know/worry about the notch for the clutch, they mounted up find, no issues.

cluthc works great.

Put 14 monkey bars on my 12 Skunk, Ordered them for a CVO in Black.  Then did the same for my 13 CVO King, let them know it was for CVO with Hyd clutch, and heated grips.  No grinding on either bar.

Plan to order 14 monkey bars for my 15 CVO Road Glide Ultra
