Title: Which replacement battery works best in battery box
Post by: AustinSwitchblade on December 11, 2014, 04:10:35 PM
Okay, I'm trying to find a replacement battery on my FXDWG2 that works better with the painted battery box. I searched the site and didn't see a write up.

The reason I ask is the new battery is same size as old but posts sitck up too high and touch the battery box. Is there a special battery for these? It would seem like a reverse post with terminals on the inside of bike would work best.

Anybody have a good fit with aftermarket? part# etc.

Thanks!

When there is a known clearance issue, I would definitely look for the overall dimensions listed in most spec pages for replacement batteries and make sure they will fit the battery box properly.  If not sure that the dimensions listed include the height of the actual terminal posts, call the supplier and ask them to measure and confirm.

Cool, I think this aftermarket I have has down the wrong dimensions as it's too tall. Anyone have a particular brand that doesnt break the bank but is good?
