Title: Seat seems to close
Post by: CVOMark on November 05, 2018, 12:51:15 PM
I just traded my 2008 CVO limited on a 2016 CVO with 2000 miles on it. besides it running like a dog (bone stock) it seems/feels to me that the seat is located closer to the front of the bike compared to my 2008, did anybody else notice this of is it just that I am a pain in the arse. looking for suggestions

Yes the position is closer to the front.  Slightly different seating position, too.  I adjusted the back rest & highway pegs on my 2017 a couple of times before I found a comfortable position.

Agree, that’s why I Switched to a Corbin seat. It moved me back by about an inch and a half.  Sadly the new seat is not nearly as comfortable as the original, but I felt like I was sitting on top of the fuel tank I couldn’t stand it.

Try installing a set of  floorboard extenders.  I installed Pingel extenders,  which moved the boards out 1 1/4", and the difference was amazing.  No longer feel like I am sitting on the tank and legs not pressing against tank while riding.

On my 2015 RGU I also had to put a different brake pedal on it as could not press the brake with my heel still on the floorboard.  The RGU's were not designed stock for riders over 6'.  I've gotten used to the seat position but jeans rub the tank a bit.  I've avoided putting floorboard extenders on the bike as had them on my 2011 Limited and every tight turn my floorboard supports would touch pavement.  The ones I had really cut lean angle.
