Sena SRL3

Winhawk:
I have a 2015 Road Glide CVO Ultra. I installed the Boom! Box 6.5 GT.  Not the one Harley came out with specifically to retrofit but one of the regular ones and used the Soundz wiring harness. Just purchased a Shoei Neotec and the integrated Sena SRL3.

My question is, will this Sena unit connect with my radio?  Do I need a WHIM?  Are there any work arounds?

Thank you in advance.

FLSTFI Dave:
Best of my knowledge a WHIM will be needed.  Non of the BOOM GT or GTS head units have Bluetooth, that's what the WHIM does.

ultrafxr:
Before you invest in the cost of a WHIM and installation might want to check with Sena.  Not all Sena headsets offer full functionality with the WHIM.  See below results from google search:

"No, not any Sena headset will work with the Harley WHIM for full functionality. For seamless integration and features like stereo music, you must use a Harley-branded Sena headset, such as the Harley-branded 50S or 20S. Other Sena models may pair for basic functions like phone calls, but will likely not support all features and may only work in mono."

FLSTFI Dave:
Good point, I forgot some will not have full functionality.

ultrafxr:
And Harley is not longer working with Sena since last year so any 'Harley' branded Sena headsets are not longer made or available from Harley.  Some dealers probably have some still in stock but once gone that's it.
