I have an 06 fltri mostly stock except for high flow air and the muffler portion of some supertrapps. On my 2004 fltri with same setup I was getting 45-50mpg depending on the usual factors. With this bike I am getting around 37 mpg. Since this is a touring bike good mileage is important when gas stations are few and far between.
When I go to the dealer I'd like to sound a little knowledgable. I am counting on you guys to get me beyond ignorant. Help!

Has the bike been tuned? And do you have a Race tuner, PC or other?

No race tuner . Just the download they say was appropriate for high flow air coupled with the Supertrapps
Also, I have around 2k miles . The mileage hasn't changed from the beginning.

37 - 42 is about what I get depending how hard I'm running my 05 [smiley=cherry.gif]. Most often get 40 though.

30 is about what I get. Got 32 miles to the gallon once. I ride pretty hard but even on the freeway at 75 for the full tank, 32 is about the best that I get. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

I've been getting about 33-35mpg but mostly in town altough open road isn't much better. Got plenty of power and thats what matters.

A Touring bike should (needs to) be getting at least 40 mpg to be a touring bike, given we only have 5 gallon fuel tanks. My 2004 SEEG from new on got 42 to 47 mpg depending on usual variables. Since the stage I download w/aircleaner I have lost on average 3-4 mpg. This is with stock exhaust. A less restrictive exhaust should bring those 3-4mpg back, at least thats what the experts say. But if you are running 'er out to 5 grand every shift, you cannot expect the best mileage.

Just came from the dealership........talking with the Svc. Mgr.

Think [highlight]I'll try real hard on the next tank to ride it conservatively[/highlight] just to see what I can get. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

I get between 25 and 35 depending on the right wrist but 35 is hard to get unless I'm babying it, for me mostly around 30 (I start lookin' for gas at about 120 miles) [smiley=pumpkin.gif]

Harley specifications: 2006 FLTRI ESPFI 46 hwy / 39 city
This is based upon the same flawed EPA test methods used for cars, so what you get in the real world will vary widely depending on riding style and conditions. The EPA highway mileage is figured on approximately 50 mph if I remember correctly.
The best I've ever gotten on my SEEG is 40, and that was pretty much steady 55-60 mph, level ground, no headwind, no passenger. Normal for me in mixed riding is 35-38 mpg.

Factory MPG stickers can be 34% off. Not only do they do it at 50mph, but they do it in a room with no wind drag. See this recent link:
