it looks like Harley part # 762--chrome seat nut cap. I just bought one 2 weeks ago and saved the package it came in. That is the entire part number that's on the bag.

It comes with the bike. Under the rear seat there is that plug provided.  So you put the nice bolt and pillow away and use that to cover the hole.  It was a nice find while reading the manual!  I was just using the nice bolt until I came accross the chrome cover!

Bought a horn from the Blackline softail series and installing it between the front frame tubes.

DO NOT USE THE STOCK HORN AND COVER FROM THE CVO RGC... it will be a very expensive horn relocation $$  Do not ask me how I know

Horn and new fender on their way... ::)  :o   Old fender will go on the wall of shame...  :'(

Where did you get the floor jack and how much?

Lift is an aluminum, inexpenisve lift from Harbor Freight - Aluminum Motorcycle Lift  (http://www.harborfreight.com/lightweight-aluminum-motorcycle-lift-94715.html) - got in on special and with an additional 20% discount coupon I had... So it was like 140.00

I only use it for light stuff, but it has worked well so far.

For heavy work or when I know it will be up on the lift for a few days, I use this:

But I have to tell you, with the center stand, I have done most of the work without the need of a lift.  Just did the 1K on the bike at home and did not have to touch any of the lifts.  Center stand was all I used.

Also, on the topic of lifting the bike, just in case you guys are thinking about getting the HD frame protectors:

To use the frame protectors I had to modify them to fit...  The photos are from when I had the Sedona Orange RGC but the fit is the same for our CVOs.

Now they work/fit fine... ready for next time:

She Wore Bluuuuuue Vellllllvet! Bom Bom Bom!  :cucumber: He He very nice!  :2vrolijk_21: No Air cleaner?

Stock Air Cleaner hits the Lower Fairing... ordered a new cleaner a couple of days ago.

On a side note, remember to order the covers  ;).  Last thing you need is a accidental scratch on the tank or fender while working on the bike.

Fuel Tank Service Cover - Large - 94640-08
Fender Service Cover - Large - 94641-08

Also, if you don't have one, they have these cool magnetic trays with the HD logo in them.  Great for keeping bolts, washers, etc, from walking away (well, the front fairing screws on the RGC are not steel...so those still get to disappear from time to time :) )

6" Diameter - 94793-01
4" Diameter - 94821-01

And, this is silly, I know... but just cool to have all the HD specific tools separate

Orange tool box - Free - friend had no use for it
Harley Davidson stickers - 5.00  ::)

Having my own orange HD Tool Box! Priceless :D

Hi, My Blue Baby is coming in Mid March, looking at your set up I see that you relocated the horn, my question is the Willie G Skull that is where the horn nut goes.  Where did you  get that?  Also thinking of the tour pack and I really like your set up, is that a king or chopped?  Also, is all that out of the HD catalog? Just want to get it right when I go to order everything.  Thanks and sorry for so many questions.

Do not worry about the questions.  Ask away!

Skull emblem is the same that the bike has in the front fairing - H-D Part Number: 14100228
I ordered a horn from the Blackline series to replace it. FXS Horn - 69195-11 - 14.92 - Very weak sound in comparison to the stock unit, but that was the only one that would fit between the front tubes without damaging the front fender... and by front fender I mean the second one I bought after denting the first one with the stock unit... so trust me on this one ;)
Tour*Pak in the photo is the Chopped one.
Everything from the HD catalog except for the air cleaner, of course.

Build thread here: http://www.roadglide.org/showthread.php?t=10730

Congratulations on your bike and hope you enjoy many many miles in good health!  :2vrolijk_21:

Wife surprised me last month by trading in my 2001 Dyna Super Glide Sport on this new FLTRXSE for my birthday.  I told her after seeing one at the Ocean City, Maryland rally in Sept. That after 11 years,  I finally saw a new Harley I could really get excited about.  And best of all , she was fine with me keeping CVO #1  My 2001 S.E. FLTRSEI2.  I purchased it new in Feb. 2001.  Currently has 49500 miles.  Great wife and great to have a choice between a true classic and the new Hot Rod.  200 miles on new one with the following extras.. LED turn signal mirrors, black air-wing rack and saddlebad lid rails both with smoke LED lights, Detachable black passenger sissy bar with touring pad.  Rear dresser bars. Garage door opener. Desert Dawg engine guard chaps.  Passenger footboards and highway pegs.  Fullsac B header and 2" muffler cores. Harley race tuner pro. Thinking about Harley signature solo with backrest and passenger pillion and a taller clearview winshield for cold months.  Ordering the King tourpack this summer with smoke LED light trim.

WOW Ted!
Great choice of bikes!
Great choice of wives!
Can we get a picture (close up) of the black rack?
Also a close up of the saddlebag rails would be great. (I have the color matched led spoilers ordered for mine)
What highway pegs did you put on yours?
Both of those are beautiful bikes, I'm glad someone else thinks they make a great pair.
Congrats!

Thanks for comments,  Footboards and highway pegs are from a 2010 CVO Ultra a guy on ebay was selling parts off of. They were like new and the current Rumble collection and quite a bargain.  Decided to stay with Harley's Theme of black trim on top to match the black handlebars and mirrors.  Will try to get some close-ups tommorrow.  Went with smoke leds to match the taillights.  Considered color matched lid spoilers but they only come with red lenses.

Lights on but much more impressive at night.  Decided on black componenets instead of chrome to stay with Harley's concept of chrome below the seat and black on top
Sort of like a split personality Tourer.  Curved black license plate frame coming soon.

These bikes are just awesome looking!!

A quick update on mine...

Front fender replaced... will not mention it ever again  ...

Old one goes up in the wall as a reminder

New mounts for the spotlights installed as well... remember that I worked with Joel at Headwinds on brackets for the ABS equipped bikes.  Just as a side note, got a chance to meet Joel during Bikeweek, cool guy.

From this (testing spacers before he made the actual new mount) :

to the final mount:

Time to show some love to the 12 SERGC.
Getting ready for a trip so I changed the mirrors/gps mount/oil/ filter/cams/pushrods and tuned it.
Was hoping for the RG LED's before the trip but since the SEUC has the LED's all is not lost.
Now to decide which bike to take on the trip.

Every time Renay wears out that little red wannabe SEUC you ride, you come on here and flog me.
Just because Renay has the best bike (best looking & best running) stop taking your frustrations out on me.

Installed the speakers, new lids, and spoiler with LEDs.  Pending the install of the harness from the speakers (back) to the head unit (that means removing the front fairing again!...) and then taking it to the dealer for the programming they have to do...

I did, however, connect the spoiler LEDs.  Those are fully functional now.

Maggie Valley had a Bike Rally this weekend.
And the grass needed mowing at Eagles Nest.
So last weekend was the 03 Classic to Surfside Beach.
This weekend was time for the 12 SERG to Maggie Valley.
467 miles of great weather, beautiful skies and great bikes at the rally.
We rode up on the Parkway.

And yes, the grass got mowed.

Do you attract many critters to munch on the apples?

Your bike and all the other 2012 CVO "Blue & Black" Roadies are a very sharp looking ride!!!

When they first came out, my wife and I stopped by our local dealer for something. I showed her the 2012 CVO "B & B" Shark that just landed on the showroom floor. First thing out of my wife's mouth was, "that is truly a beautiful bike, GET IT, YOU SHOULD BUY IT..... NOW!!! "

IT was very tempting! Next to my "YELLOWBIRD", that is the one I would get for sure.

Thank you.  Blue is my favorite color... and when I saw this bike it was less than a year after getting my first HD (2011 Sedona Orange RGC)

It was a crazy and completely stupid financial move, but the color just hit me hard...had to have it.  You do realize that the Blue/Black is really  Blue/Dark Metallic Blue ;)  I had not noticed that until after I bought the bike and looked at it closely under the sun... lol...

Love this blue...

Only way I would move to a new one is if they come back with a similar color scheme...

Gave it a complete wash, wax, seat clean and conditioning, polished all the chrome (even the never seen rear wheel)... and then took it for a ride...  :2vrolijk_21:

Well... believe it or not, I had never given the bike a complete chrome/paint/wheels/etc. detail...  I mean, I wash her and keep her clean, just not to the level of detail that some folks I have seen.  Anyway, did that yesterday...

Gave it a few coats of good wax...smooth as can be...

Removed filter to clean and recoat with oil:

Even got the bell cleaned again:

And the rear wheel... all of it!

I had removed the highway pegs about two years ago in my last trip to Key West... temporary installed them on my wife's Deluxe (brother was using her bike to ride with me)... finally got them installed again on my bike.

A few more... felt nice to get all the chrome nice and shiny... also gave the seat a good clean and conditioning... bike has 6K miles... and it sleeps in the garage, never outside... so nothing is really attacked by the weather :D

Ready for the ride!

WOW!!! :shocked2: How about some more pics (especially of the cockpit) and some information regarding this set up... it appears to be a "purpose built" bike.

Removed the stock SERG wheels for now.  The ride will consist of probably 16,000 miles over 3 weeks and I did not want to risk getting a flat and not being able to get the right tires.  Plus I get better mileage with the stock touring wheels.  Not sure what I will do with the bike when the IBR is over.

Pic of front.  Shows Madstad Windshield and Clearwater lights on the highway bars.  These lights use a dimmer and each light emits 6000 lumens each.  Makes those dark nights safer to ride.

Picture of the dash.  Using 3 Garmin GPS for rally routing. Valentine 1 for radar.  Farkle Bar is the power source for 1 Garmin and V1.  With this I can power up to 6 items and detach to take with me into the hotel room at night.  Also, I can move over to the other bike without having to worry about wiring.

I gave it to a friend to use on his bike... he was going to paint it... but if you want to buy it...

I will forward your email to Cory... like I said.  I gave it to him... I keep telling him to sell it and then use the $ to buy a matching one for his bike.  He just got a new Road Glide....
