Comments please.... Who has reported success by timing a 1340 evo with a timing light vs timing by ear and performance. Guess my question is: Which method would you use on your bike and why.
Hope to see a few comments. Thanks in advance.

I am far from a Harley mechanic, but you mention you wanted a "few" comments.
I don't have a timing light so when I changed the ignition on the 113 evo, I put it back in about the same position, afterwards I rotated slightly until it started to ping and then backed it off until the pinging disappeared. It was very time consuming. Later, when it was on the dyno, the tuner advanced it again to pick up about 2 hp but while riding two (500+ lbs) up it started to ping under load, so I put it back again. The 2 hp gain was not worth it to me. I think using the timing light is best and will save time, but fine tuning for your riding conditions is important too, I did enjoy a good dyno report but real life performance is more important to me.
