Title: 2001 CVO Road Glide
Post by: JONNIEROCK on January 05, 2016, 10:18:25 AM
Buddy of mine is looking at a 2001. I know it's a 95" motor. Can anyone tell me anything else about it. Like, were there differnt cams, heads, or any other preformance parts as say compared to a regular 88" made at that time. Does anyone know what the stock horsepower was ?
                       Thanks in advance Jonnierock

I still have 2000 CVO RG, love that bike after changing the seat for my wife.  The 95 is a good engine, not sure of the details but much better than the 88.

Purchased my Blue FLTRSEI2 back in February 2001. Still love it today. It came with the big bore stage 2 motor. That's a 1550 cc  95 cu. in. And factory installed S.E. 203 cams. In 2005 I installed the SE 6-speed trans and SE performance heads with the proper cartridge re-map. Dynoed at 77 HP. Still runs great today at 63000 miles.  My other ride is a 2012 CVO Roadglide.

I still ride my red 2000 all the time also.  Really is the most comfortable bike I've ever had.  Well well dialed in to me of course but I just love the bike.  Engine specs as mentioned above.  Some will complain about the Marelli components on the bike.  They are either manageable or in several different ways upgradeable if someone wants to though.  So there's no reason to consider Marelli a deal breaker on a bike that is otherwise so outstanding.

The owners manual for my 01 says Torque 95.2 ft-lbs @ 3500 RPM. I don't think HD ever put a HP number out for this model.

I have an 01 SERG too. We were in an accident two years ago with a semi box truck. I never saw the damage after the accident before they loaded me in the ambulance but  I couldn't stand the thought of it being scrapped so I went to the wrecking yard and got it out the next day. Almost all the plastic was broken but it started right up and drove on the trailer.  It drives and runs good still so now I'm piecing it back together. I painted it white and will use the same Screamin Eagle scheme. In an emblem thread on here I posted some pics of the Emblem/Decals for anyone to use for cutting or having a professional do something with. Though I'm painting everything here is a pic, in all its ghostly glory, of the White Fairing with Silver Eagle background and Blue Outline in vinyl as a demo I used.
