Title: JW Speaker 8700 EVO 2 - Mounting bracket needed? Modify stock bracket?
Post by: FAST380 on October 16, 2016, 09:31:24 PM
Just ordered a JW Speaker 8700 Evo 2. JW's web site says a new mounting ring is required because the stock bucket is too shallow. Can the stock bucket be modified? It's $75 for the new bucket...

By the way, I paid $255 shipped for the headlight, best I could find.

Attached is a picture of my stock broken light for the fun of it.

you shouldn't need a new bucket ... you have a open bracket for the headlight you have now ... its not the closed bucket they mention ...

Sweet, I hope you're right! I figured I would wait until I got the light and try and make it work one way or another.

Ok, seeing as there is a lot of people on this thread that know about passing lamps, do I need to order the brackets with the switch, or can I use the factory installed accessory rocker switch? I assume that is the difference in these 2 kits.

In the pictures on the web one of these kits shows an additional switch. why can't I just use the Accessory rocker switch in the dash?

So I don’t need to order the mounting ring?
