Hey guys looking for suggestions for a mount that will hold a I phone on the handlebars (Factory 47) larger Dia bars. have seen a few that hold the phone and have elastic pieces that wrap around the corners of the phone to hold secure. I use it for music and directions when riding. Use a plug line ou t of the RG fairing glove box and might charge it from the cig lighter. Would like a way to remove the phone easy when needed. and be able to remove the mount as I will not always use it. I have a nice magnetic b case that sometimes I use on the tank.

I use this one, you can get different mounts, like to go around the bar or bolt onto the clutch, it seems to hold the phone very well, I haven't had any problems. It doesn't have any straps and holds it tight.

I use an OtterBox Defender modified to attach to a RAM mount.
https://www.amazon.com/OtterBox-DEFENDER-Case-iPhone-Plus/dp/B00Z7TPCCU/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1510008113&sr=8-10&keywords=otterbox+defender+iphone+7
I just cut off the belt clip and used some gorilla glue and pop rivets to attach the RAM Ball, then use a handle bar mounted RAM ball and a short connector. Remember to counter sink the rivets so they don't hit the case or the screen.
The defender case is great on it's own, and the belt holster is super tough once attached ot he RAM Mount.
Perfect!

Another advantage is I have ram ball-mounts on both my motorcycles and also on my Cannondale mountain bike. So this is able to be used on whatever bike I'm riding.

I've been very satisfied with the Kuryakyn Tech Mount, (bolts up to the Harley switch housing). Has held up well for 4 years / 60k so far... Going to buy one for the SEEG when I get around to it :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

I was also concerned at first, but not no more.
I have one on my Street Glide and on my Wife's Road King.
We both toured the entire month of August, coast to coast with no problems.
I was more concerns on the Road King, since it kinda in the wind....but it is rock solid and doesn't move at all from bumps or wind.
Good Luck

You might take a look at QuadLock:

I have used them in the past, and they have mounts for many different purposes and phones, iPods etc.

Christ man, don't say anything is the best around here. The engineers will get you....
I use a Ram ball mount with the Xgrip on my last bike. Great product.

Your results may vary.

Looks like it would work pretty good, but with the 14" apes it will cause me to run a really long wire to connect to the radio's sound system. Make sense

Another issue I have is because the handlebars are 1 1/2" in dia. Hared to find a mount that will wrap around them

BigLew,
If you use the ram ball check out the P-clamps by Kuryakin. I use them on all our bikes as they come in multiple sizes to fit stock to larger diameters handlebars. Can also call Frank at Daytona sound he is located on the Ormond HD property he usually has em in stock.

I bought the HD handlebar GPS mount, had all the components chromed that were not, ran the power thru the bars and then adapted the ball mount to a superior (costly) alloy bicycle mount for the phone. It looked very good when completed like something made for a motorcycle. Took a while waiting on chrome shop, finding a alloy mount so I could have it chromed and then taking bars apart for wiring but I just could not get over all the ugly crap that is sold for this purpose, Ram, Kurakyn etc. they all look so bad, to me, that I just would not use one.
I would post pic's but I sold the SERG and the mount went with it.
