Title: CB PTT switch swap
Post by: stekat on November 22, 2017, 07:34:22 PM
Has anyone swapped the PTT switch on late CVO's from the right to the left handle bar?  I've heard that some have done it but would like to know what's involved.

Had the dealership do it on my 18 CVO Street Glide after I installed the CB. They hook the digital technician to the bike and then do a software update. After that they swap the buttons. Only took about half an hour. Works great and for me I prefer the CB PTT on the left side.

I do also perfer the PTT on the left.  But with that being said I'm kinda getting used to it and digging the cruise control on the left so I'm torn with leaving it as is or swapping.  Decisions, decisions.

I did it , it's taking a little time to get use to ,overall I'm glad I did. It's   tough to key up the radio with you hand on throttle .

Those who use your CB on your later model bike have found like me that they moved the CB controls to the throttle side which makes it really difficult to operate while maintaining speed. They have now offered a way that the controls can be programed back to the clutch side. I'm having this done soon, has anyone else had it changed yet ? Your dealer might not know of it yet, its under program

Very interesting. I would be very interested. Anyone have a link to the TT460 instructions?

My dealer switched my CB/PTT switches yesterday with the Digital Tech but they didn't know if the buttons just pull off and switch positions. I really like my switches back to where they used to be--so much easier to push PTT switch with left hand. Does anyone know if the CB/PTT buttons just pull off and switch positions? Thanks for any info.

The kit for this swap includes gray buttons to swap out the black buttons so future users and HD techs will know the button functions have been swapped.

So there is a kit for the swap?  Do you have information about it - part number, cost (if any), etc.?  Thanks.

The details are outlined in TT460. There’s a “PTT/Cruise Control Switch Button Swap Kit” part # 71500494. Your dealer needs to reconfigure your BOOM system using Digital Technician.

When I had the dealer do mine they just swapped the factory buttons. They just pop off.
