Interesting, does show some feasibility but requires planning.  Tesla is nowhere close to hitting production numbers, does not look like they will be able to correct this in 2018.  High hopes for the 3 model, but the company is way in the red.  Lots of interest in electric and early on it competed with the combustion engine.  See charging stations in parking lots, rarely see anything hooked up to them.

Time will tell.

Since you mentioned production numbers: https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/tesla-delivered-1550-model-3s-built-2425-in-q4/?ftag=CAD13782fc&bhid=24464463102074638119325673610843 (https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/tesla-delivered-1550-model-3s-built-2425-in-q4/?ftag=CAD13782fc&bhid=24464463102074638119325673610843)

Good read, Simon.  I enjoyed the video at the bottom logging the entire trip....and all the times the driver was using his cellphone texting during that trip.  Wonder if he went through any states with laws making it illegal to text drive....and that's video evidence of his breaking the law.... ::)

Tesla had several problems preventing the 5,000 Model 3s per week projected for now.  Read somewhere they had a lot of deposits on cars, probably more than they can build this year.  Lots of interest, enough to get other manufacturers (Mercedes, BMW) more interested in electric cars.

those things are crazy... and so are the folks that drive them, when i was in NY this past july some where around woodstock pulled in to a gas/charging station and there sat 4 of those things. talk to the owners a bit, proud people, but it takes like more than an hour to recharge them, that would make me go nuts if i had to do that  every 300 miles

Here in the UK supposably by 2025 you will not be able to buy a new petroleum vehicle

Here in the UK supposedly by 2025 you will not be able to buy a new petroleum vehicle

No wonder the boys at Top Gear moved onto The Grand Tour but I guess they still produce in the UK. By 2025 Jeremy may not be on this earth anymore. Richard Hammond just needs one more crash to vanish.

Stopping for an hour every 300 miles does not make a cross country car to me.  Say you have 800 mile trip, you just added two or more hours to your trip

The technology is coming along good.  I'm sure it will not be long before electric cars can go 600 or more miles on a Charge.

They will also have to get more charging stations more in the so call fly over states.

I'm guessing they left the heat off to gain distance. Several shots have them with blankets wrapped around their legs.
