Title: 2018 CVO Fullsac exhaust dyno tune
Post by: FLSTFI Dave on January 09, 2018, 08:09:47 AM
My 2018 CVO Road glide has only had a Fullsac MX head pipe installed.  It also has the 2.25 power cores, Tech mat and screens.  It has a heavy breather and a TTS Tuner.  I had the bike tuned yesterday.  First bike I have had were just an exhaust could make the clutch slip.  Pretty impressive torque curve for just an exhaust.  This is why I always recommend fullsac.

Not too shabby, Dave.  Dem ol' kuntry boys know how to tune a bike.  Just over 10% hp bump and not quite 10% tq bump.....I bet it made a world of a different in the seat of the pants gauge...congrats.

Dave,

VERY IMPRESSIVE with just the Fullsac/TTS set up!!!

I agree with you, Steve G/Steve C. know their craft.

(AND without any Snake oil included!!!)

Nice Dave. Did your baseline run include the canned map download from Fullsac or did you just forgo the canned map and only have it tuned professionally?

Yes Dave - inquiring minds want to know

Nice dyno chart.
For clutch, mine was slipping due to high torque mods. Added an AIM variable pressure clutch VP-SDR and put Type F ATF in the primary. No more slipping!

Yes the first run on my Dyno was with the caned map.  A tune will net power even on a stock bike reason is stock has to account for wide variables in tolerances for all the various parts.  Its the same with a caned map.

The 2018 CVO Road Glide 117 produced 93.75 HP & 112.51 TQ according to Hot bike and Bagger Magazine.

The caned map is pretty much the same HP, but 7 more torque.  It also has a better shape curve.

Then after the excellent tune by Brandon its 10 more HP than stock and 17 more torque.

The throttle response is great.  There is good roll on power pretty much everywhere.  I put 125 miles on it yesterday, 80 interstate miles and the rest twisty hilly roads.  Cruise set at 3000 rpm on the interstate roll on or passing was great.  No need to shift.  In the hills and curves it was spot on.

Money well spent.  This is the best 2-1-2 head pipe available for the 117 M8.

Loved Fullsac on my TC. Looks like you have ANOTHER great running bike :) These M8's have crazy low end.

No problem.  More than happy to show what a Great Headpipe and cores with a good tune can do.  Really is the best head pipe on the market right now for an M8.

Yep, I have slight clutch slip with just this exhaust set up and tune.  I will be adding the AIM heaver springs which will cure mine.  However if I do a cam, I will have to do the VP-SDR like I have in my 13 CVO King.

Thanks.  Makes me really want to do a cam on this bike.  I think that would get it close to my King for a lot less motor money.

How's the sound with the 2.25" cores?  I am about to pull the trigger on an 18 FLXHSE and these numbers are amazing.

I don't suppose you have a video or anything?

No I do not have a video.  I think it sounds good for an M8.  An M8 will not sound like a twin cam.  I am very happy with the sound.  Mello until you really get on it.  It real nice for actual touring on, you can ride all day at 78 mph and not be annoyed by the exhaust.  I will get loud when you get on it.  Its deep and not raspy.

FWIW, last week they finished the MX / 2.25 install on my brandy-new 18 FLHXSE and my jaw about dropped when he fired it.

I wasn't expecting it to sound bad - but I was not expecting it to sound so good.

Definitely happy with my choice.   :pepper:

Now I'm debating having them tune it.  Since I've got at least a month before I start riding, it'll probably find itself on the dyne at some point.
