Title: Winter 2000 Enthusiast SERG Coverage
Post by: 110tHunDer on December 04, 2007, 09:57:39 PM

I was fortunate enough to score this on eBay over the weekend and it came today.  I found this article pretty interesting.  On page two there were some things I didn't know about the red ones, such as that they had painted inner-fairings and that the fairing lower glove boxes were also color-matched. :nixweiss:  Also on page 2, they carry on with the overly-optimistic mantra about the performance of this bike that was also seen in the sales literature that I posted scans of elsewhere on the site. :confused5:  But maybe I've just forgotten how slow 88" Twin Cams really were by comparison. ;D

Enjoy!

LOL, just found another one.  Though maybe not technically a typo, it is incorrect nevertheless.

"screamin eagle package that bumps twincam 88 from 92- to 95 cubic inches"

"screamin eagle package that bumps twincam 88 from 92- to 95 cubic inches"

 :2vrolijk_21:  That's one.

 Can you find the other?

OK, no takers so either it's too hard to find or  . . . . . . . .  no one gives a chit! :nixweiss: :huepfenlol2:

The other one is in the first paragraph: "The tree of lights above the stretch of pavement keeps the rider and motorcycle on the edge with its bright red glow.  A slight twist of the throttle nudges the 95-cubic-inch V-Twin toward launch mode while the other hand firmly grasps the brake lever . . ."

Not sure about y'alls SERGs, but with mine, your right hand operates both the throttle and the brake! :huepfenlol2:

Makes ya wonder who they got writing this stuff?!? :nixweiss: :confused5: :drink:

Thanks for the scans, they have been added to my journal on finding and purchasing my SERG. Never thought I'd be able to add the article you scored.

You're welcome, Doc! :2vrolijk_21:  I thought it was pretty neat, myself.  I have the Fall (maybe it is the Winter :nixweiss:) 2003 Enthusiast where the SEEG's introduction was covered, so it was great to be able to add this issue to my collection for the SERG.  I like to collect all the documentation I can get my hands on for these bikes.

I chuckled when I saw your post. I think actually have that issue stored away somewhere. I like the Orange SERG appearance wise although I have no regrets with my black and silver SERG. I've held off gtting a new ride simply because I like this bike so much. Dam MOCO, I'd sure like to see a SERG3.

...my three tone red was a compromise too after lusting after the orange/black, but like you guys I'm very happy. Doc

I don't know..........the black and the red are both very nice looking bikes in their own right. :2vrolijk_21:  I'd be torn if I had to decide between the three. :nixweiss:  There's just not one that jumps out at me more than the other two.

I just call him "BO"   :-\

My girlfriend likes to tease me and call him "the chicken".  I tell her she is pretty pathetic if she can't tell a bad assed screamin eagle from a chicken.  ;D
