OK, you've obviously been indulging in a controlled substance or two. The words "MoCo" and "generous" have no business being in the same paragraph, much less the same sentence. ;)
BTW, rest assured that they didn't give anything away. They made a tidy profit on that sale, as they do on everything they sell.

The new unit won't. The stock unit in the 04 is fine.

Issues with keeping the compensator nut tight was the only problem. Don't follow the originally published torque specs. Go with the revised torque spec and there's no reason to worry about the compensator on your bike. Service bulletin for revised torque spec attached as a PDF.
