Title: Cup holders Texas style.
Post by: Trans am on May 30, 2014, 02:20:52 PM
Installed the hog trough's today,    Installed easily enough,    Will ride tomorrow to check them  out fully.     We do breakfast on Saturdays at chick fil a. And having to leave behind my ice tea is not fun.

I like the mount on the lower door.  I find the bars to be too shaky for cups...plus I've got too much crap on the bars already.

Just a kindly warning if anyone is planning ordering through J&P cycles.

Even though the website says the product "fits your 2014 FLHTKSE" J&P hasn't received the 2014 modes from Hog Trough yet.

I had to return one recently.  To their credit, they covered full refund to include no restock or shipping fee due to the error.

I'll probably order direct.  I also like the idea of an easily-removable cup holder.  Just something about a cup holder...

Regards,

Mark

I like the idea of it being on the lower but I have always been concerned on how much heat comes off the motor.  Does the drink stay cool for long or are you drinking hot water after a short time on the hwy?

Tried them out today.    91 all day.    Filled with ice and cold water.     Aft about hr.  No ice. Cool water.  Another hour.  Just plain ole water.  Not cold not hot.

I just put on and tested on 1800 mile ride. Love the location but does hit leg when using touring pegs. Also, pia to put ice in the bottle, and the bottle cap leaks water down your jacket when you squeeze water into your mouth.  They should have a wider opening for filling and better cap.

Bottle top is piece of crap. I get soaked everytime I try to drink from it.

Now all you need is a catheter and a catch bag. Drink and piss all day. :D

None of my rides are that urgent that I can not just get off and drink a bit. I keep a bottled water in the saddlebag and wrapped in a coat for insulation. Heck most of the time I stop at a store and just go in for a chilled beverage. You guys are really hard core.

Thanks. Did you get front and back or just front. Was it easy to install. How long does it stay cold?

I used a RAM ball mount and 2" extender and jus used the cup holder and cup.  Back when I got mine it was a "kit" for Goldwings and I improvised to fit.  The ice usually doesn't melt between gas stops (150 miles) even in baking Texas Sun.  Used it since '08,  the guys make fun but I say don't hate me bcause I'm beautiful!

No need for a catch bag just make sure the tube is long enough to travel the length of the swing arm, hold it in until you have a tailgater then let it spray.
Lol
