2014 road king seat comfort issues
« on: May 03, 2015, 03:31:49 PM »

I am finding that the stock CVO road king seat is not that comfortable for anything over 150 miles or 2 hours .Does anyone else have a issue with this??? Anyone found a more comfortable seat for the long ride?? Would be nice to find something to match the passenger pad and the shorty tour pac pad too. Or just change them all ,Paddy

I agree...and changed to a corbin solo.

I was really hoping to keep the stock seat but as you stated, get uncomfortable after a few hours.

No problem doing a days ride on the standard saddle, although I am probably stopping every two hours or so. I just like the way the stock saddle looks.

I'm in the same boat, or on the same bike as it were, and am currently looking at changing to a Mustang seat. Haven't narrowed it down too much but I think I'm going to get a solo and pillion with some white stitching since I have the tour Pak with a matching pad to the stock setup. Looked into having the seat repadded but was told he couldn't do anything with the CVO seats.

Not much in the way of choices to keep the pillion and the tour pak pad from what I see

I have been running a corbin solo on my last CVO road glide and on my current CVO road glide.  Very good seat.  Like it better than the danny gray  big seat I had on my 09 CVO road glide.

On my CVO King I have the stock seat, modified by Seth at Auto Originals in Farmington NM.  Modified it to have a back rest and added gel to the seat.  Not quite as nice as my corbin for 600 mile days, but is fine for 500 miles.  I also like the looks better.

I added a air hawk to my 2014 and love it. Put 1700 miles on it last week in Arkansas. I also have a back rest from grasshopper limited that also helps.

Just bought a le pera "outcast" seat for mine , best seat I've ever had (and I've had a few as Sinatra would say!)
No one hardly mentions le pera on any forum ,and if they do it's only about the "bare bones" seat, they do make other seats as well you know guys!

The quality of manufacture, comfort and style can't be beat in my opinion...foam is a wee but firmer than mustang but not as rock hard as the Corbin seats I've tried on my buddies bikes,
I Would never give Corbin a penny of my money anyway, dam rude ,ignorant people to deal with and that's before they got yer money!!!
Give Ashley at le pera a call , marvellous person to deal with, same goes with mustang....both get my vote :2vrolijk_21:

Which size air hawk did you buy? Bought one for the pillion, but couldn't decide on the correct size for the rider seat. Saying that, I can ride for about 2 hours with no issues, need a stretch after that, but after a short break I'm good for another couple of hours.

I've got the Mustang Solo Low Tripper with Rider backrest. Love it. Extremely comfortable. How anyone would ride without a Rider's backrest is beyond me. Most comfortable thing ever

I just logged in I was going to ask the same question my 14 cvo toadying seat is terrible I'm a big guy and after 1 hour of riding my legs and seat are killing me and I have to stop and stretch out I also took off the highway bar and now I thought maybe with the factory seat I could stretch out more and be comfy ? Or is it just the seat that is killer I sat on a ultra limited and lived the seat was thinking about looking on eBay for a take off what do you guys think factory seat with highway bar more comfy ? Or new seat and no highway bar ? Thanks in advance

Just spent the $$$ on Mustang Vintage Solo w/ back rest and passenger pillon. Will let you know how it works out. I'm a little bummed I gotta remove my rear fender strips but apparently you have to for all of the mustang solos with passenger seat.
