How far up are you able to move the tour pack when you put a plate on?

Does anyone know of an adjustable bracket for a solo mount. I can't rest my back on the backrest and is about 4" from my back. If it could adjust forward that would be great  Any ideas?

I just drilled a couple of extra holes in the mounting bracket to allow my tourpack to sit a little more forward.  works just fine.

Hey paconico

Just put a chopped pak on my 17. My wife rides her own so I like the solo setup. The pak is just stock black, currently undecided if I will bother painting it to make the cvo paint scheme as I will rarely ride with it on.

I need King tour pack to go forward 5 inches so my back touches the backrest. I could make a bracket to bring it forward but then the solo tour pack mount would be exposed on the backside. Maybe I need to keep my solo backrest on and the King tour pack backrest for looks. Thoughts anyone?

Thanks

5" sounds like a long way to go. Are you sure you have the one-up "solo" mounting bracket? On my bike and my wife's as well the back rest is within 1" of my back when adjusted fully forward. My wife is 5'8" and she is within 2". Not sure why you are 5" away.

I'm sure to all of the above I'm only 5'5" tall. Are all you guys using chopped tour packs because I'm using the king, that may be the difference in inches.

no, that isn't it either.  the king tourpack and the chopped tourpack have the same footprint, the only difference is the king is 3 inches taller.  and i'm 5'4'', so i'm even shorter than you are.  it really does sound like you have a two up rack as opposed to the solo rack.

Skratch, can you post a pic or pm one. I'll post one later with me on it so everyone knows what I'm talking about.

posted a pic a few posts up.  if i moved mine 5 inches, it would either be falling off the back of the bike, or half over the seat.

The 5 inches was measured for my lower back when I'm sitting on the seat

Paconico,

That is the solo set up for sure. You must be sitting a fair bit forward on your seat. My two cents would be to fabricate a plate that would allow you to move the pak further forward, or possibly rig something to move the backrest itself further forward without moving the pak. (possibly some combination of the two) Another consideration would be to look into changing out your handle bars. They do make a bar called the "reach bar" and that may allow you to sit further back in the seat. May be worth looking into.
