2017 FLHTKSE - CVO™ Limited or wait for 2018
« on: June 02, 2017, 07:07:05 PM »

I'm ready to trade up from my 2009 FLHTCUSE4 90K miles. I have it for sale at $17K and think it's time to move up. I like the Palladium Silver/Phantom Blue but wonder if I should wait on the 2018.  Does anybody know what changes are in the 2018 and what color combinations will be available.  My Harley Dealer says the only change will be the color.  But I think that's because he wants to sell the 2017.  I've hear there will be no CB.  I would only guess the MSRP will go up from $40,999.  Any help would be appreciated

I have that same 2017 bike and it is just great. No CBs on the non-CVO bikes starting for MY2017. But the CVO Limited does indeed come with a CB. No offense but if you can get $17k for your your 8 model year old bike with 90k on its clock I'd jump on that.

Thanks for your reply.  CB's are optional on the Limited in 2018.  Just not sure if they are standard on the 2018 CVO Limited.  I know about the 2017 CVO Limited.  I'm looking to understand the model changes and colors for the 2018.  I understand the $17K asking price.    But I also know Motherload Harley sold a stock 2009 CVO same color with a rebuilt engine and 96K miles for $26K two years ago.  I almost sold mine last spring but the buyer found a newer/less miles one for a few dollars more.  The only reason I've kept mine is the color.  I haven't seen a better color on a CVO but I do like yours, a lot!  :)  Thanks again and enjoy your beautiful ride!

I personally would wait and see what the 2018s have to offer. You will still be able to find a 2017 if that's what you want and you should be able to get it at a lower price. Or the 2018 may have a improved suspension or some other upgrade.

The only reason to wait in my opinion is you are within 90 days of the 2018's being on the floor. Once the 18's come out your 2017 is, regardless of when you bought it, a year old bike with resulting drop in value. So for maybe a few dollars more for the '18 in September you can ride for approx a year with a NEW bike vs 90 days for your 17 to be a new model.
So me I would wait. But that is a decision you will have to make.

Might as well wait now.  Only a few more months to go. . Stuart

Feature-wise, I don't see any big changes between 2017 and 2018 (except they will likely bump the price).  Colors are always a gamble, especially given the very limited options for the CVO each year.  I have seen very few colors over the past few years that I like, so when the opportunity came up last week, we bought the Palladium Silver/Phantom Blue after trading in our 2012 with Wicked Sapphire/Stardust Silver and couldn't be happier.  It was just built two weeks ago, so it's the latest and greatest.  When I trade it in 5 years, it will still be five years old, so makes no difference to me!

I have the Palladium Silver/Phantom Blue color bike for sale, with 1200 miles. Balance of the factory warranty.
