How many turn on the system to turn the rear cylinder off when the motor is hot in traffic? It makes the bike sound like crap.

Rear is on in our "winter" and off in summer.  Definite heat reduction when off.

Have never used in on my 15. Even living in Florida bike has never felt hot enough to turn it on.

Always on. On the M8 (unsure about the TC) it actually increases the idle speed a bit which is OK as the normal idle seems a bit low to me.

I was a necessity on my 2007 and the 2012, both of which were only air cooled (not the dual cool system).  Out of habit, I have it active on the new bike and notice it comes on sooner, but there is no real heat issue, I just have it on.  The sound doesn't bother me, but on the older bikes it put out a pretty foul stench...haven't noticed it on this one yet.

I replaced the Harley ECM with Thunder Max, which disables the EIMTS. Thunder Max compensates overheating by changing the mixture. I logged into my ECM and you can see the logged temps and number of times the heads were at certain temps. I have hit 264 degrees 4 times (105 ambient air temps), long before the warning light comes on to warn you of heat or risk auto shutdown.

I have a D&D 2-1 and Fat Cat tail, always sounds great~! plus, this combination with TM auto tune increases horsepower from the standard 65 to 95.

First off I don't own a M8 and don't foresee one in my future, the HD EMITS is configured one way, not very well explained by the technical writers. Then there is the way TTS is configured for this feature.

I have my ancient HD with TTS tune in open loop at idle at 13.6 for a reason, I've got the EMITS enabled but have never noticed it going to skip fire mode. When I do get caught in situations where at a standstill I simply turn my engine off, yeah I know it's hard on the starter but that's what I choose to do.

YMMV

TN

I'm sorry my idle is set at 13.8, just paying attention to detail here.  :orange:

Always keep mine off paranoid about a failed compensator and like others mentioned try and avoid traffic.

EMITS Disabled on mine.  Never been enabled on the '15.  Been caught in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg traffic a few times in July.  Radiator fans kick on so cooling accomplished.  I don't/didn't like the 1940's John Deere tractor sound/feeling of the EMITS when it worked on my '12.

what effect would the eitms have on the compensator?

I leave mine on, but traffic here is not so bad.  I don't notice it that often.
