Light plugs
« on: August 06, 2017, 08:31:46 PM »

Hello all.  Been a long time since I've logged on here.  Been spending a lot of time with the shovelheads lately. I've got an '09 Road Glide SE3 that I haven't ridden much lately. Full sac head pipes 1.25 cores TTS tuner.  Just pulled the plugs and they were on the light side. 21K miles.  Not noticing any lack of performance but concerned about running too lean. Should the plugs be chocolate brown like a carbureted bike or am I overly concerned?  Got 44mpg on my last 400 mile ride. Thanks in advance.

It is very normal to have light colored ceramic on these bikes.

Very light tan (almost white) is normal on a modern bike running closed loop engine management.

"Light" on a modern engine management system is normal.  Your fuel mileage doesn't suggest anything frightening toward that end either.  "Light" is a subjective description though.  Rather than describing what it looks like share a picture if you're concerned.  That will serve better than any description.
