New Bluetooth Iron Cross ipod module?
« on: September 05, 2017, 07:15:58 PM »

I have the original version with a cable. It acts up a lot, and stops playing after awhile- it may be the cable, but I think the module overheats.

I called Iron Cross and they said that cable version is old, and they now sell a module that is bluetooth, but works just like the cable one, meaning you can use the handlebar controls for volume and switching songs, etc.

I ordered it, but haven't had a chance to pick it up yet. They don't have this on their website, and I so far I don't see anything on the 'net about this.

Anybody have one of these bluetooth versions?

J&M did install with there 7.25 and an amp at Arizona bike week last winter
they told him it would work to advance to next song on blue tooth but it does not. he also kept using his ipod  .

I did a jenson with a usb stick and dump the ipod   it all works even the blue tooth but display on the jenson  is not the greatest and also volume control is slow.

I think it would be better in a batwing as it would be closer and a better view angle

So I got this item and installed it. It is Bluetooth, and it flips through songs by the right side handlebar switch. On the HK radio screen, you can select pause, random, and whatever else.

It is called Saddle Tramp. Here is a link from an ebay posting- http://www.ebay.ca/itm/272559348660

The instructions are kind of thin, but it also includes a USB port that you can wire in, and attach the end inside your glovebox. I guess that would charge the phone too. I didn't put it in as I would have to drill a bigger hole in my glove box to where I had the cable run through from the previous ipod unit, and I'd rather not have any cable running through there because I want to put the glove box liners in.

Works as described.

My original iPod cable bit the dust so I gave Iron Cross a call and purchased the Saddle Tramp BT unit.

Very easy install and works great. I also installed the USB port where my otherwise useless cigarette lighter used to reside, that was quick 5 minute upgrade while the faring cap was off for adding the BT unit.

Iron Cross service and support is outstanding, I placed my order on Monday afternoon and was back up and running less then 48 hours later.
