Front End Issues
« on: October 02, 2017, 10:18:46 AM »

Not sure whats going on with the front suspension but its banging and hurting the owner. Not sure what in there it may be stock. But its time to tear it apart and find out what is going on. Might even go with a big tire (18 x 5.5) the current 21" doesn't ride very good. By the way I rode a new CVO RG Sat and that 21" on that bike was horrible. Any way suggestion guys on something that rides good and smooth and handles great and maybe a cost comparison for the options. Thanks

Legend Axeos.  American made.  Work great.

No.  They have been out several years.  Great quality and ride.  Had Traxxion before and these just as good and installed myself.  I gave right at $680 last fall.

Can they be adjusted on the fly? Say set it up for me to ride and then Susie decides she wants to tag along. How hard to adjust for another rider?? Was the AK-20 just too expensive?

The Legend axeo's are adjusted when you install them in the tube and you adjust them per Legend's recommendations for weight so you can't adjust them like the Traxxion's..
I never adjusted the knobs on the Traxxions on my 2005 or 2010..  Left them set where Traxxion said to start out per the ride sheet I filled out.  Rode/handled the same 2 up or single.  Truthfully, the adjustment knobs are at the top of the tube and hard to reach up and get to under the fairing cap and hard to adjust the same as there are no clicks.
$680 compared to over $1000 for the Traxxions and shipping both ways to Traxxion people in Georgia.  The Legends were not a hard install on the 14.
If you buy the Legends, email Legend tech support before installing and tell them how you ride and weights etc and they will tell you how many turns to set the Axeo's..  The sheet that comes with the cartridges gives you a range but tech support will be able to fine tune better when installing.

Email Mark at sales@mandmcycles.com   in Sandusky, Ohio for a price quote.  I purchased mine from him 9-12-16 and my cost was $674.96 with free shipping.  List was $749.95..   Mine kit was the standard height for a 2014 and up 49MM fork-part# on invoice 04140494..  Hope this helps.

I also give a thumbs up for Legend Axeo front cartridges. I had Traxxion AK20s on my 07 and H-D premium ride cartridges on my 12.  Helping a friend last year decide what to do on his 11 CVO RG Ultra and he settled on Legends as the best value alternative. They are available thru Drag Specialties and at that time Rebecca at Tri County H-D was discounting so he got them from her. New owners stopped discounting but other discounting dealers might be willing to do the same.

I helped him install and was not difficult. He raves about the improvement. I’ve ridden his bike a couple of times and cannot tell a difference between them and Traxxion. There may be if in terms of absolute max performance but for normal and even spirited riding I think the Legends are great. Big improvement over stock.

I think you'll be happy with them. I've had no issues with them on my '08 CVO Ultra.

Just updated the saga of the front end! Progressive; will never buy anything from them again. After the way they treated me, I wouldnt run them if they  were free.
Now the Legends 200 miles so far and love them! Boatman thanks for the heads up and the discount!
