2018 CVO 117 testing
« on: November 08, 2017, 08:55:29 AM »

Been working on a 117 from stock to stage 1 with a fulsac ex system and tts tuner to now testing new cams in it .

Been slammed not over here much not on the net much anywhere to be honest

So this is the bike in 100% stock form fully up to temp 5th and 6th gear pulls

jeff l 18 cvo 117 stock 5, 6 gr pull by GMR Performance, on Flickr

This is all stock with the add on of the the tuner only ( stock intake and ex ) with TTS tune. Clutch not happy at this point . I have added 130 lbs springs and SDR lock up as well

This is the Fulsac head pipe and 1.75 cores in stock mufflers with TTS tune.
Aitr cleaner on and off The stock unit is smaller than the older style CVO set up .

New cam is in the bike and testing will happen on that soon. Waiting on head gasket for the bike . We took the head off to check a few thing piston wise etc .  So the next sheet will be with the new test cam and the ex system. I can say that the Fulsac system works better than the "other stock heat shield system"  Based on testing . Steve did a great job again on the new M8 system

Great info. Steve, this is exactly the info I've been waiting for. I figure once I pick up my new bike next month the plan is to go with Fullsac headpipe and baffles and TTS tuner during the factory warranty. As I have done with my current bike I'll be watching closely for any updated builds from you and Steve George, so my patience may not last as long as my warranty! lol
Would you mind differentiating for us novice types in your charts which lines are for example the 5th or the 6th gear pulls, air cleaner on and off etc. etc.

Thanks again Steve!!

Sure in stock form you are limited by speed ( OEM MAP) so use 6th to get your 1:1 ratio and you see the the tq curve however in 6th the speed builds to fast and thus no RPM so 5th to show the peak HP . Best you can do with stock map .. Blue was 6th Red was 5th

On the second graph the Blue run is a 6th gear pull with just a tune running stock parts  Last grpah was blue no air cleaner tts tune and fulsac ex system. red was air cleaner on again both 6th gear pulls which is a 1:1 ratio .

Air clean on and off was showing that the stock unit dos not flow enough to feed a stage 1 engine . I could see it on the pull watching the data log file . Map reading was rolling backwards . Popped it off to show that it was costing in power .

Thanks for your quick reply Steve. Did I see in another post that you stated something about the 2018s will now be detectable with changes done to the bike even with TTS??

any tune changes can show up however its about putting it back to 100% stock not just a part of the OE tune but all of it . The TTS tuner will in fact load ALL of the OE tune back into the ECm and not have it show up on the DT  Not going to get into depth on that as it turns in to a  pissing match . But I will say that time will show what tuners can and cannot tune the bike and take it back to stock . If a PV took it back to 100% then explain the errors that have showed up and verified by dealers and end users . Not bashing the tuner just pointing out a fact that is all . Each person has the right to use what ever tuner they see fit

I can say that the Fulsac system works better than the "other stock heat shield system" Yes I have tested that one and not impressed at all
I'm lost on this:  the "other stock heat shield system".  Can't place this.  Little help?  TIA

I'm assuming Jackpot from Fuel Moto. They also make a header that utilizes your stock heat shields.

I have done a bunch what do you want to see ?? but most of it has the " big wheel "bagger pipes so short dump 2-1 style so numbers do not really show what is going on . and all most all have cams as well . I posted one or two of them up just a few days ago
