Photobucket question

On another forum that I view on occasion, there are pictures posted that I am unable to view. They apparently are photos that are on photobucket.
My question is, why are they not viewable, and instead of being viewable there is the following?

That's because photobucket now charges ($399.99 per year) to enable 3rd party hosting which is needed to display the photos on another website.  I switched to https://www.flickr.com  It does not charge for 3rd party hosting.   :2vrolijk_21:

So, if I understand your post correctly, the person that posted the photos has not upgraded (paid the ransom fee) their subscription to photobucket for posting pictures!
I don't blame them.

Photobucket was user unfriendly a long time back.  Flickr is good, several other hosting sites (free) are out there.  Tinypic.com is also a good one.

That is correct. Photobucket has their photos held hostage until they pay the ransom.
