2018 M8 dyno numbers before and after
« on: April 30, 2018, 09:50:47 PM »

Good evening all I just wanted to post up the numbers of my before and after. I went with the rcx Tormentor and the four and a half inch mufflers. The bike made 97.09 horsepower and 115.03 pounds of torque stock. After exhaust install and tune it made 101.1 horsepower and 123.09 pounds of torque. I lost 3 horsepower and 4 lb of torque do to the restrictive stock breather.

I haven't yet.  I'm going to wait until I do the stg4 and upgrade the air cleaner then because of the bigger throttle body in the stg4 package.

Is the 101/123 with or without the air cleaner on the bike?   Presuming the higher numbers were attained through no element on the bike and just open intake as you stated you hadn't purchased an air cleaner yet.

Can you post the dynosheet it's always good to see the shape of the curve.

The 101/123 is with the stock air cleaner.  With no air cleaner it did 105/126.  Here is the chart.

Curve looks good, should feel the difference.

If you know the dyno guy it would be great to see where the gains are with the air cleaner off .   He could overlay both runs your 123 and 126 on top of each other.   Might be more there across the board vs just peak number.

I'll be doing the stage IV in a few months.. I'm just going to ride it like it is until then.  I'm hoping for some decent improvement with the stage IV.. The exhaust is not quite as loud as I had hoped it would be but still a damn site better than sounding like an industrial sewing machine like it did.... LOL
