Rjob and Cindy on the mend
« on: July 27, 2007, 09:40:23 AM »

I figured I'd update our Nelson mishap here.

If you missed it we dumped the bike off of a shoulder in Nelson.  Brain fart, bad timing, poor road etc, end result bumps and bruises and not much damage to the bike.

Cindy is virtually good as new as her road rash was mostly surface and healed quickly.

My left knee that was badly twisted is doing better, but I still am using the soft brace I got at Wally World.  My right shin/foot/ankle are the most painful still.  The discoloring from the bruising has moved all over my foot and is now starting to disappear finally.

I still hobble for the first few minutes after getting up in the morning or taking a long ride.  It does seem to be getting better.

I have managed to play three rounds of golf in a week as the golf motion doesn't aggravate the injuries.

At any rate, thanks to all those that got us back on our feet and two wheels on the ground.  Cindy's helmet had a decent scrape as well and again, like them or not it is a testament to helmets.

Roger...glad to hear Cindy is all better, and you are mending quickly  :2vrolijk_21:  Very, very glad that Cindy was wearing the helmet, and I know you are thankful for that as well.

Thanks for the update and the good news!!

Rog,
Since I've been on the road so much, I hadn't read about your accident.  I'm glad to hear you and Cindy are coming along well and no serious injuries to either of you.

Roger,
Of course, I was clueless about your mishap, but I must say that I am very happy to hear you and Cindy are mending nicely.  We're keeping you both in our thoughts and prayers.

Thanks to everyone, we were fortunate as I said and each day comes a bit easier on my knee.

Thanks for the support.

WOW :o. This is the first I've heard about your mishap Roger. What a bummer. Thank goodness Cindy was wearing a helmet. It's good to hear that the two of you are on the mend and doing better.

Take care,

Thanks Mark, missed you guys in Nelson this year.

We're heading over to our new house today for a round of golf so it's not all bad, the knee is better day to day and the right shin is not as bad as the other day.  Now it barks at me but at least I can put my full weight on it when I hit the deck in the morning.  Up until today I had to gradually apply more weight over the first 5 or ten minutes of the day.

I think it's pizzed at me and wants to continually remind me of my dumb chit attack in Nelson :huepfenlol2:

I'm finally going to wash the bike today from the trip as the weather has gotten good enough to ride and I'm off work this weekend.

Good luck at the Brickyard  :2vrolijk_21:

Roger,  so glad both you and Cindy are mending and getting back to the gettin on with your lives.  You are so obviously great folks, that we did not get to know better.  Hope to see much more of of you both in future rides.  Thanks for all  you did for the folks that attended the 07 CVO rally and personally, for what you did for Jamey and me.  We will be forever in your debt.
