King/Queen seat
« on: October 23, 2008, 11:19:40 PM »

Has anyone tried the "Retro King/Queen Seat" by Harley?  It's a nice looking seat, definitely not as plush as the standard King/Queen, but it has to be kinder to the passenger than the stock seat. This will only fit the 07 and possibly 08 bikes.

Here are some pics of the seat from another forum on a softail:

I have one on order. It will be in on Friday, I'll give a report. I've taken 3-4 hr rides on the stock seat, and it was OK for me, but horrible for the passenger.

Got the retro king/queen seat today. It looks great and is pretty firm. Probably no comfort improvement for passenger over stock—about the same feel for the operator. Integration with the mini sissy bar is great as photos in previous posts show. I can't quite bring myself to get the non-retro king/queen. It looks too much like a marshmallow, but I hear it's super comfy! :D

I looked at the K/Q and thought it was real nice, as I walked around the dealer showroom I saw this seat on a stock Harley.

I asked if they had a tape measure..they did.. I bought it on the spot and have 13,000 miles with no compaints from the rear section.

It still looks like a narrow seat for the BSR   IMHO, better to ask BSR riders what they think of it.

The above post is only a partial quote from me (the first part). I did not write the second paragraph. I have no idea what a BSR is.

I think your bike looks great with that seat.  I changed my seat for one of Harley's seats that push me farther forward.  The name escapes me at the moment.  Oh, it's a Reach seat.  It works well, but is not as attractive as your new seat.

A friend of mine is still riding with the stock seat on his 08 SE Springer.  He hates the seat and wants to make a change.  What other choices are there?

We are going to Hollister to see Corbin.  Is a Corbin seat the best solution, or can Corbin modify the stock seat to make it more comfortable?  I would go back to my stock seat if Corbin could push me forward a bit more by changing the padding or contour, or something.

I have also been looking to replace the stock seat on my 2008 FXSTSSE2, with one that would offer greater comfort for the back seat rider. Is any one aware of other options to the retro king/queen seat.

Maybe if there is enough interest we could approach either Corbin, Danny Gray, LePera or some other seat maker to see if we could get a seat made at a group price that meets everyone's needs.

You could count me in to. I love Harley Davidson but there seats are uncomfortable.  Amigo Jorge has a nice looking Corbin. But its a one of a kind. Thats to bad because I would buy one like it in a heart beat. I have a Corbin ( actually two) on my Roadking and just love it. Please let me know if something else becomes available.
