220mph + on a Hayabusa!
« on: November 17, 2008, 03:03:44 PM »

Here's a blend of mechanical achievment, riding talent and balls to max out a 500 HP turbo Hayabusa.
Watch the speedo peg at 220 as the tack continues to climb.

I know a lot of people will say riding like that is stupid but, , ,
Watching the video, notice that he powers it up at 55MPH and it doesn't it set down till he's at 140!
Now that takes a big set of, , , ,  well you know!

This one dropped my jaw.
Same guy same bike. 200 mph wheelies, pretty cool. Go onboard as he slices traffic at 150+. Death wish?

On the way back from Hanceville on Saturday, for some reason, the truck pulled into the KC Powersports shop off US 231 in South Huntsville.  I had never been there before, but like I said, the truck was in charge.  Renea and I decided to take a look around since apparently the truck was dead set on stopping there.  They had a nice 06 FLHT in there as well as a couple Dynas and a few Sportsters.
That Busa caught my eye.  Sat on it.  WOW!

Close........that close!

Almost........I mean almost rode it home, but the 107 lb Attack Girl persuaded me.......in no uncertain terms.......that the Busa would remain at KC Powersports.

Dammit!        :(

That was my first thought too. Never been 200MPH but my buddy let me ride his Busa and at 145 the white lines turned into a solid white line. At least it seemed that way.

It's been so long since I've been that fast that I can't remember.  Probably better I don't own a bike like a Busa.  My mind says "go for it," but my body has other ideas.   :huepfenlol2:

I am not absolutely positive, but my gut tells me that you cannot pull the front wheel off the ground at 200 MPH without a major catastrophe. Ground effects would flip you right over, and getting off at 200 mph or greater has to leave a mark.

Neat to watch, but I am fine as a spectator.
I have a good buddy who rode like that on his Bussa.  He recently purchased an Ultar Classic and slowed down a bit on the Bussa.
I asked him how a guy that likes to go mach 5 with his hair on fire would be satisfied with a big Harley.  He handed me an envelope with graphic pictures and proceeded to tell me a story.
After analyzing the crash site (pictures).  Investigators surmised the biker was doing 180 MPH when he lost control.  Although he appeared to be wearing the best gear.... Well it dosen't help at those speeds.  I will not go into details, but I have never seen such a horrific sight and will never forget it.
Although I still ride fast, I am more vigalant than ever about where I am.  One place I never will be is on a back at 100+.

It did look way too slow compared to what the speedo showed. Maybe he never adjusted the speedo after changing the gearing?...

The one above and this

Good reasons for the mandatory jail time in our area.

As much as a hazard to the rest of the people on the road.

Ever have some a-hole come up behind you at twice the limit or more? Not a pleasant feeling if you don't see it coming.
