Inner primary cover
« on: April 06, 2009, 01:09:18 PM »

I recently purchased the Kuryakin chrome inner primary cover for my 07 CVO Springer and although it installed easily I can't upshift into second, it's hitting on the shift linkage bar. I called the HD dealer and the inner primary is no different in size from a CVO to a standard. I also called Kurakin and they claim it should fit without a problem. Kurakin suggested to adjust the linkage bar back and before I do anything I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem.

A friend put the chrome inner cover on his 07 std Ultra and he had to adjust the shift linkage.

I was going to get one of these for my WG2 but Kuryakyn said it wouldn't work because the stock bike was lowered (one of the CVO changes to that bike). Is your bike lower than the stock one?

Thanks guys for the input. Buy Early yes my bike is lowered compared to a standard softail. I did call Kuryakin and they said it should fit no problem other than possibly having to adjust the shift linkage. I just wanted to see if anyone's had a similar problem before I go trying to adjust things.
