I secured the bottom and top of the lowers using the parts included in the 58146-07 detachables fairing lower mounting kit. Seemed to work fine for me.

Now you've made me curious (hate it when that happens).  When you get a chance a picture please of how you've done the top mount of your Road Glide lower fairings using the detachable kit.  I can't wrap my head around how any of this part kit is going to quick detach to replace the nut going on that kind of top mount.

i fabed a knob welded to the screw to help me with the upper tr mount for the lowers. i had hell with it the other way.
the lower mount don't take much. i wish i could find speaker boxes to replace the glove boxes. :nixweiss:

if i had a set of boxes i could practice on would be good. might need a few cause i'm sure i'd destroy one.

Hey TN, do you want pods to mount speakers in the lowers?  Phone Kevin Morris 205 948 6481 and he can help you.

Ok, The four retaining screw, (bottom of pic) are useless, can only use two of the black thingys are uselfull, but you have to fab something up and add a fender washer

Never understood this whole "quick detach" part kit for the lowers.  Harley tax at its best/worst.  Stock you just take off the fairing cap (which you'd have to with the quick detach parts too) and then take one nut off the bottom and one off the top.  Literally a couple minutes per side.

Quick detach can't save much time as you're not spending much time to begin with.  Guess it can make it a tool-less exercise; which is to say it can make the lowers incredibly easy to steal when the bike is parked out somewhere.

I guess I just prefer my nuts to be in place....  ???

That`s the fact , yes , detachable means for the MoCo : without tools , and not faster , but easier to steal , you are so right Don .
