Go West Young Man
« on: November 03, 2005, 02:05:49 PM »

[smiley=cowboy.gif]  Hi all,  Thought I would share the movie file i created  of a great trip my Wife and I took this year to Co, UT, NM ..
Great trip... Not long enough. The file about 9mb.  Save the file as a .WMV file if you are having problems.  I could write more but I picture paints a 1000 words.

If you see the greek looking stuff .. Right click on the link, then select SAVE AS and place a .WMV at the end of the file name.. that should work.  Let me know if you still have problems.

Looks like a great trip Sean and thanks for sharing.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] We did a similar thing this past summer only farther north and it was more than words can describe. Again, thanx for the post.

Sean.

Let there be no doubt, I have never been referred to as the sharpest tool in the shed.

With that being stated and my lack of knowledge, I am unable to view the link that has been presented under any conditions I have attempted.

However given my ignorance, I am confident it displays the message you are attempting to convey.

Just looked at the links.  Do this:

Click on his link in the first post of this thread.

In the screen that presents will be a link that reads: click here to download file

RIGHT CLICK on that link.  One of the menu options will be "save target as."  Choose that.  In the filename box add .wmv to the end of the filename.  Then tell it to save the file.

and then just to be sure cuz one never knows

find the saved file on your hard drive

double click it with your right mouse button

Enjoy.

That was one of the coolest things I have seen in awhile. What a great way to document an adventure. Would be great to have something like this to show the family when they say." How come you never call?" during one of those off season holiday visits. Or am I the only one that hears that? Thanks for sharing. What software did you use Final Cut Pro?? I have Adobe Premiere and After Affects, older versions, but I have yet to check them out in depth.

Ok Sean, I gotta say that was really a lot of fun and worth the struggle to figure out how to go to the link you provided, then click on the link on that page that says to download from, add the .wmp that you told us to do, I had to also change my setting from .htm to all files and then play the movie.   [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] Wow, and i thought I was computer savvy, kicked my butt for a coupld of days now.  But I got it, I viewed it   :o and it was awesome!  Thanks for sharing your holiday.  :D Looks like a great destination.  I am thinking though that I am actually a little scared of heights    [smiley=nervous.gif]  and in some of those shots there was a lot of heights.   ;D

Thanks.

Great job Sean !  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] Nice mix of sound and pics of some beautiful countryside that many don't get to see. Makes me wish I'd done digital video on trip through Death Valley in July, 115 degrees before noon but worth the adventure.
Cheers!  [smiley=drink.gif]
